Royal Caribbean Perfect Day at CocoCay Bahamas Price List

My first Royal Caribbean cruise was decades ago aboard the old Sovereign of the Seas. The cruise included a stop at CocoCay (properly pronounced Coco”Key”). There was no printed CocoCay price list.

A perfect day at CocoCay meant you could relax on a relatively uncrowded, peaceful beach in the Bahamas

Nearly everything but booze was included. For only $7, you could rent a floaty mat for the day. There were two volleyball courts beneath the shade of massive pine trees.

Or you could walk along a meandering dirt path around to the back of the island and look for shells or maybe long-lost pirate treasure. CocoCay was itself a treasure of peace and tranquility.

My, how times have changed.

Perfect Day at CocoCay Prices

Royal Caribbean invested $250 million to give the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas a total transformation. This once-tranquil CocoCay was renamed, “Perfect Day at CocoCay.”

And taking poetic license, the cruise line has “Cay” rhyming with “Day”. Or do they??? Check out what I found on their website area for travel agents:

The heart of the “new” private island destination is Thrill Waterpark. There are 13 waterslides and includes the tallest in North America.

Cool off at Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean or for the fearless, try Up, Up & Away, a helium balloon ride with the highest vantage point in The Bahamas, soaring up to 450 feet.

Like almost elsewhere in the world of cruising, everything is on steroids. Bigger ships need bigger cruise terminals to accommodate the bigger ships. And now bigger, private beach destinations.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is a prime example of bigger must be better. And from the looks of what’s happening there, maybe it’s true. Your Perfect Day at CocoCay now comes with a hefty price tag and a lengthy price list, to enjoy all the features and attractions.

And then there’s last minute souvenir shopping, too. Here, you’ll need cash or a credit card. There are a lot of straw items, t-shirts, colorful beach coverups and more.

Colorful little shops in CocoCay.
Don’t forget souvenirs.

Where is CocoCay Bahamas Located?

CocoCay was once named Little Stirrup Cay located in the chain of the Berry Islands. The Berry Island Archipelago is located about 55 miles north of Nassau. CocoCay is close to Norwegian Cruise Lines’ private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

What is Free at CocoCay?

Thankfully, a few things at CocoCay don’t come with a price tag. There are still a lot of free things to do, eat and enjoy. What Royal Caribbean calls the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, Oasis Lagoon, doesn’t cost a dime.

There’s a kid’s water play area with a pirate shipwreck as the focus called Captain Jack’s Galleon with slides and water cannons. Another free area is Splashaway Bay water park plus sports courts on South Beach.

Also at South Beach and Chill Island, you’ll find free beach chairs and beach activities. And food!

Royal Caribbean Free Things to Do at Cococay

When your stomach starts to rumble, CocoCay offers five complimentary dining spots throughout the island. These include Skipper’s Grill, Chill Grill and three Snack Shacks.

Will a Drink Package Work at CocoCay?

Absolutely. If you purchased an onboard Royal Caribbean Drink Package, you can use it on CocoCay.

Perfect Day at CocoCay Price List

Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay prices to experience the water park have changed from the original cost in 2018. Their website doesn’t list the actual cost unless you have a booking. So I made a temporary “booking” to access the chart below.

Remember, CocoCay prices can vary based on season. What has stayed the same is kids under three years still have free admission.

You can also purchase half-day passes for Thrill Waterpark and a combo Thrill Waterpark + Zip Line.

Wristbands are used for your entry into Thrill Waterpark. Once you have a wristband, you may enter and exit the park as often as you like. Half-day passes are for afternoons only.

The admission price to Thrill Water Park gives you access to what’s billed as I mentioned earlier, the highest water slide in North America, Daredevil’s Peak, at 135-feet. The cost also includes another 12 waterslides, Wave Pool, Adventure Pool, complimentary dining at Snack Shack, beach chairs and towels.

Beach umbrellas, spa services and water sports toys are at an additional cost. Towels and beach loungers are still free.

How Much Does a CocoCay Cabana Cost?

For shade, there are plenty of options; beach umbrellas, clamshells, and daybeds- all available for a rental charge. Over at the beach, there are cabanas available at Thrill Waterpark, and Oasis Lagoon freshwater pool.

CocoCay Overwater Cabanas

The overwater cabanas at Coco Beach Club accommodates up to eight guests and comes with attendant service, a private hammock, a minibar, and your own personal slide into the sea.

Some cabanas come with extra perks, too. If you reserve a cabana at Thrill Waterpark, youโ€™ll enjoy complimentary entry to all of the slides and activities inside for up to six guests.

If you reserve a cabana at Coco Beach Club (including the overwater cabanas), youโ€™ll enjoy complimentary access to the club for up to eight guests.

An overwater cabana for eight including full admission to the attractions can run as high as $1,799 during peak season.

The price of a Coco Beach Club overwater cabana also includes admission to the beach club with its complimentary restaurant, an exclusive beach, a beach clubhouse and other amenities.

What Activities Cost Extra at Perfect Day at CocoaCay?

If you want to ride the 1,600′ zip line or soar 450′ skyward in a tethered helium balloon, it’ll cost you. Here’s the new Perfect Day at CocoCay price list for all the attractions, experiences.

Note the asterisk in their price chart. The cost, especially for the Cabanas, can increase dramatically without notice. This depends on the season, ship capacity, and other factors.

That’s why Royal Caribbean is not listing a specific dollar amount for Cabana rentals.

All said, unless you want to dish out the big bucks for a private cabana, it really looks like a quiet day at CocoCay of the past, is gone.

For new cruisers or those with families and others just looking for new experiences on an old theme, this will be a perfect day.

  1. Hi Barbara,
Thank you for taking the time to send your comment. I’m actually laughing at how ridiculous the prices are at CocoCay for one of the premium cabanas. Keep in mind, though, that March is high-season and that’s part of the reason for the outrageous $3,799 price. It would be interesting to see if all the overwater cabanas are sold. I’ll bet all will be sold or nearly all. Crazy.

Thank you also for reading my article about the price list for CocoCay. Much appreciated! Have a fun cruise (despite the cabana cost)!

  2. I have to say that I am utterly shocked by the cabana rates for our March 2023 cruise. An overwater cabana is
$3,799 (no typo). Even if you put 10 people in it, that is still $380 per person. The least expensive cabana is about $1,299. The one-day cabana is going to be more than most paid per person for the cruise!

  3. Hi Cookie,
Thanks for reading my CocoCay article. Prices at CocoCay may fluctuate slightly based on season, anticipated crowd size or Royal Caribbean’s whim. But discounts are highly unlikely. Good question, though. Thanks for taking the time to ask it! Enjoy your day at CocoCay!

  4. Hi Heather,
Thank you for reading my article. To the best of my knowledge, your prepaid gratuities cover the onboard service staff. This is probably a question best left to be answered by Royal Caribbean, or something your travel agent could find out for you. You could inquire with someone at Shore Excursions if the reservation agent can connect you. My guess is that it’s better to be prepared with a gratuity than not to have any cash, just in case.

Thank you again for reading and taking the time for your question. Have a terrific cruise!

  5. Thanks for this article. Iโ€™m curious if my overwater cabana rental included gratuity or if I should plan on adding gratuity on the day of. For reference, my party all has purchased the alcohol package and prepaid all gratuities.

  6. Hi Linda,
Thank you for your question. Your SeaPass card is used for almost everything related to Royal Caribbean, except as you mentioned, local shopping kiosks. It would depend on the merchant if they accepted a credit card. According to Royal Caribbean’s website today, lockers are still free. Enjoy your cruise!

  7. I was there in March 2022 and those were the prices. Royal Caribbean can change the rates on a whim, based on location, capacity, holiday season etc. They can and do charge up to $3,000 for an overwater cabana but as I said, when I was there, they were $1,500.
    Thank you for your comment.

  8. are u high. NEWSFLASH.. Cabanas $2500 each.. Minimum $250 each for cococlub day pass. Why are saying the rates are so much less? Have you even been to cococay club?

  9. It states all things are using your Sea Pass card. Except for shopping, t shirts etc. It says to pay cash. Are credit cards accepted. Also are the lockers free?

  10. Hi Brad,
Wow! I totally understand your frustration with all of this. In my opinion, the cost at CocoCay should be fixed, not fluctuate based on season, holidays or ship. There’s a good chance that if you had booked with through a travel agent, he or she may have been able to “negotiate” with their sales rep to add more onboard credits to equal the change in the Thrill Water Park pricing.

If it was me, I would keep pestering Royal Caribbean and ask to speak with a supervisor – throw in the word “Escalate” and see if that helps the reservation person to act.

Sorry that this happened…and I’ll be you’re not the only family that’s going through something similar. Good luck! And thank you for taking the time to reply with your issue. It helps me to learn what’s happening, too.

  11. Thank you for updating the prices. I had purchased a cruise on the harmony of the seas for Jan 22 in 2023 last year. At the same time, the thrill water park was available to purchase, so I did for a total of about of $440 for a family of 6. A month or so later Royal Caribbean had to change the ship from Harmony to Wonder (however everything was to stay the same, same ports, same dates, etc..), which was fine. Without notifying me, they cancelled my thrill water park reservation and when I called they said I couldn’t re-purchase it yet and had it wait until RC re-offered it, but I was to call to get everything corrected. Well they finally re-listed it and it is now double the price, $880 for my family of 6. I have been on the phone for hours and they refuse to honor my original price. After hours, the “best” they say they can do is offer $200 in onboard credit (originally on the first call the “best” they could do was $100 in onboard credits) in an attempt to prevent me from escalating my call to a manager. I have now been waiting for close to a week now for a call back. Very frustrating and unethical I feel. Their justification is that it is a completely different sailing, even though the original email about the change in ship noted the only thing that would change was the ship and the stateroom.

  12. Hi Janice,
Thank you for your comment. CocoCay certainly has changed since we both visited there “back in the day!” I agree, there wasn’t much there except to relax in a hammock under a palm tree, have the BBQ lunch, water sports or walk the beach. Very low key. Now it’s become its own theme park destination, though there still are a few quiet spaces to relax. You’ll be amazed when you return, for sure. I also hope you have the chance to experience the new CocoCay. Thanks also for reading my article…much appreciated.

  13. Hi Marina, Thank you for adding your comment. Yes, converting from USD to Euro will be helpful to many cruisers. Thank you!

  14. My first cruise was also on Sovereign of the Seas. It was the last cruise on that ship. We went to Coco Cay and Nassau. There were hammocks and lounge chairs. We snorkeled and there was a BBQ buffet for a couple of hours. There were a few vendors. They were renting floating mats for $10 but we were too cheap to do that! It was relaxing but nothing to write home about. Food was mediocre at best. Now I would LOVE to go back!!! I hope I get the chance.

  15. Hi, just to update the prices in Cococay for my booked cruise in July :
Chill Island Cabanas or Ocean Lagon Cabanas ; 1.558,21 Eur per adult
Thrill Waterpark – Full Day pass : 134,10 Eur Adult or child over 4 years old
Zipline 45 minutes ; 113,31 Eur adult or child
Helium Balloon Ride : 76,92 Eur per adult or child
    .
Hope this is usefull for all travellers.
    See you in Cococay .

  16. Hi Mary, Thanks for your question. That’s a tough question to accurately answer. A lot depends on when you travel, how many passengers are onboard, weather etc. In general, the lines do move well, not like at Disney where you can wait for hours! Before you purchase your 4-hour pass, ask the shore excursion desk for their thoughts – they might have some insight as to how many passes were purchased.
Have a terrific day at CocoCay!

  17. Do you happen to know how the lines are for all of the attractions within the waterpark? Wondering how much we would be able to get out of a 4 hour pass.

  18. Hi Patricia,

The difference between “old” Cococay and the new Perfect Day are really extreme! I’m glad you were able to experience the before and after Cococay. There are parts of the new one that I like, too. Although I will admit that I enjoyed being able to walk what used to be a deserted beach on the other side of the island, back in the day.

Thank you for reading my article and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. It’s much appreciated!

    Sherry

  19. Hi Sherry; I must agree that Coca Cay looks a whole lot better now than when my husband and I went there on a Royal Caribbean Cruise for our honeymoon. I have pictures of the day that probably needs to be archived nowโ€ฆlol. It looked so primitive when we were there: some small huts, small market, hammocks and a nice beach walk. I still have my map of Coca Cay that shows up how to get around the island. We re-visited Coca Cay in 2019โ€ฆ.what a difference a 250 million dollar update made and we enjoyed it.

  20. Hi Sharry, Thank you for reading my article and sending your question. I double-checked with Royal Caribbean and here’s their info:
    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=ZH97&DestinationCode=

Yes, at this time (subject to change as it is stated) Royal Caribbean states that there are half-day passes available. Adults and children are both $39.00 per person for approximately 4 hours at Thrill Waterpark. A waiver must also be signed and anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by someone over 18. Minimum height for the slides ranges from 40 – 48″.

    I hope this helps!

  21. I would like to know if on summer 2022 there will be a half day pass for the 13 waterslides at coco cay? And what is the price?

  22. Hi Mieke,
Thank you for reading the article and sending your question. Yes, combo package for Thrill and Zip Line are offered. The easiest way to reserve it is to go through the Cruise Planner on Royal’s website and choose your shore experiences there. Or your travel agent or a cruise line res agent can also add it to your booking. Have a great time!

  23. Is the cruise line still offering the combination Thrill Water Park + Zip Line discount pass? If so, what is the best way to purchase these prior to sailing?

  24. Hi Kathy, Thank you for your question. The Wave Pool is located within Thrill Waterpark, and as you noted, there is an admission fee. The cost can vary depending on when you travel. At last check, the cost can vary from about $44 – $99 for ages 4 and up. Thanks again for reading my article and have a fun cruise vacation!

  25. Hi Sue, Many thanks for reading my article and taking the time for your question. If you and your friends want to be where there is a good chance of less kids, you might want to head to Chill Island beach area (go to the left when you get to the island) or go straight ahead all the way to Coco Beach Club. There is a premium cost to spend the day at Coco Beach Club, somewhere in the range of $80 per person and up. When you log in to your account on Royal Caribbean, you can get the exact rates, as they vary by season as well. These are the two areas I’d recommend if you don’t want to be inundated with kids. There isn’t an “Adults Only” section at CocoCay. Thank you again and have a wonderful cruise!

  26. 2 seniors and an 11 yr old. How much does it cost just to go to the wave park

  27. 4 adults cruising in January and visiting Perfect Day….what area would u recommend for us to sit where there are less kids running around?

  28. Hi Brooke,
You brought up some very interesting and involved questions as well as the fact that quite a few people are traveling together. So that I’m not caught in the middle of this with any inaccurate information or misinterpretation, my best suggestion to you would be to ask your travel advisor for the exact details that you mentioned. If you didn’t work with a travel advisor, you should call Royal Caribbean. If the reservation person cannot clearly answer your question, then ask to speak with someone in the Shore Excursions department.
Sorry I can’t be of more help here…but there’s quite a bit at stake and I don’t want to confuse or give out incorrect information.
Thank you for taking the time to write and I hope you and your family have a wonderful cruise!

  29. This is in regards to renting a land cabana at coco beach club. I was curious as to how pricing works. Is it per person or just for the cabana. As well it says it comes with complimentary admission to the club for up to 8 guests. My mother is the one purchasing the cabana but it doesn’t allowed her to to pick who will be in the group. If she rents the cabana and we arrive on the island do we go to coco beaches desk and check in saying how many we have (7) and then we all get access to the club? I just need clarity on how the complimentary access for up to 8 people works and how it will play out once we are on the island. Thank you.

  30. Hi Lynsie,
Thank you SO much for your email to point out this issue. After digging around on both the public and travel agent areas on their site, I cannot pull up the new price list. I’ll have to book myself with a refundable deposit to get to the planning area for the pricing. The new list is horrible as it doesn’t show prices…and that’s because (I’d guess) as the fine print says, “Subject to change based on sailing date.” I haven’t been to CocoCay with the new attractions, but I’ve heard it’s like an amusement park, not the peaceful beach retreat it used to be. Thank you again for pointing out the out-of-date chart. As soon as I can, I will change to the new one with actual prices (subject to change, lol!).
    Sherry

  31. Unfortunately, your article is out of date. The prices have gone up a ridiculous amount! When we first booked our 2020 cruise, I saw full day passes to Thrill were $74. Not realizing that was actually a great deal at this point, I didn’t purchase them. Now, they are $132 EACH, which they call a “pre-cruise deal.” Cabanas with passes are a minimum of $1000. These prices are over the top crazy. Very disappointed in RCL for this. ๐Ÿ™

  32. Hi Doug,
I contacted Royal Caribbean. The person I spoke with said none of the cabana rental categories include the Up, Up and Away or Daredevil’s Tower. Good question! Thanks for writing and have a great cruise!
    Sherry

  33. Have rented a cabanas at Co Co Cay. Is the up up and away and daredevils tower included in cabana rental price? Thanks, Doug
