I’m excited to announce that in April 2017, I’ll be co-hosting a Europe river cruise! After months in the planning, along with my two friends, Stuart and Kimberly Cohen, we’re cruising the Rhine River in April aboard AmaWaterways newest river ship, AmaKristina.
Who are your hosts?
Me. Sherry Laskin Kennedy, a cruise and travel writer, blogger, photographer, storyteller and iTunes podcaster. I’m on a mission to entertain, inspire and encourage readers to travel the world without flying – to discover the world via ships, riverboats, trains and road trips.
In just the last six years, I’ve spent a total of 21 exciting weeks on the rivers in Europe. I’d love to share my insight and experiences with you on our 2017 Rhine River cruise, as we meander from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, Netherlands; an itinerary I’ve experienced many times.
Stuart Cohen is an international motivational speaker, business coach, author and 29-year travel industry executive and visionary. He is also a certified integrative health coach. Stuart is father to two children.
Kimberly Cohen is a nurse practitioner specializing in cardiology, certified integrative health coach, wellness blogger, and mother of four boys.
One of the reasons that we chose this spectacular itinerary called The Enchanting Rhine is because it is filled with castles and ruins, steeped in medieval history and ancient legends. The Rhine River cruise is a highly scenic, enticing journey!
Our adventure begins in Switzerland.
This awesome 12-day trip begins with two nights in Zurich and then two nights in Lucerne.
Then, we board our motor coach for a short ride to Basel to meet our ship – the brand new AmaKristina. There’s a special Welcome Aboard dinner and in the middle of the night, we will set out for a journey along the legendary Rhine River through France,Germany and the Netherlands.
For those opting out of the pre-cruise land package, your adventure will begin in Basel, Switzerland where you will board AmaKristina directly.

Accommodations. Choose your stateroom board AmaKristina! (Deposit early for the best stateroom selection).
Shore excursions. Daily shore excursions will take us to the heart of the city, town or village. No waiting in line to visit the most famous landmarks as well as its hidden gems. Local guides are all English-speaking. Set your own pace. Enjoy state-of-the-art QuietVox headsets. Enjoy riverside bikeways (yes, bicycles and helmets included!). All gourmet meals onboard. Amawaterways is the only river cruise line invited to join one of the prestigious La Chaine des Rotisseurs. Early Risers enjoy continental breakfast in the Main lounge while a full buffet breakfast with made-to-order specialties, accompanied by freshly-baked breads and pastries is served from 7am daily. At lunch, we are treated to an enticing buffet complete with fresh salads, pasta dishes, hot entrees, and desserts, as well as meals to order from the menu; a light lunch option is also available in the Main Lounge. In the afternoon, stop by the Main Lounge for tea or complimentary espresso, as well as sandwiches, pastries and cookies. Dinner is a multi-course affair, accompanied by free-flowing wines and beer. Special dietary requests are gladly fulfilled. Let either Sherry or Stuart know at time of booking and we will confirm your request with the ship. Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, low sodium, no sodium and kosher-style are available.
Wine & Beer with lunch and dinner. Every lunch and dinner on board includes free-flowing regional wines as well as complimentary beer and soft drinks. Complimentary sparkling wine is also served with breakfast.
Coffee, Tea, Ice Water, Ice Tea. These are provided with all meals. Cappuccino and Espresso can be requested free of charge during all meals as well. Coffee and Tea will always be available complimentary all day.
Captain’s Welcome & Farewell Receptions. These are always fun. We’ll get all dapper and mix and mingle with our ship’s crew – and our great group of friends and family.

Cruise Director. Services of an English-speaking cruise director will become a wondrous part of our journey.
Internet. Complimentary use of the ship’s wifi is available to you in the lounges. Send pics and post on Facebook. Get everyone at home green with envy about your amazing river cruise experiences! Internet is also available via flat screen TV and keyboard in your stateroom (so you don’t need to bring a laptop computer). Internet is always based on availability – remember, we’ll be cruising through the Rhine River valleys!
