1. Norwegian Luna

Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Norwegian Luna, is already sailing in the Caribbean. The ship left the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy in March 2026. It now sails out of Miami.

Luna is NCL’s fourth Prima class ship. It’s a sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, which launched in 2025. The two ships share many features, including the popular hybrid waterslide-rollercoaster called the Slidecoaster.

New additions on Luna include a Moon Climber high ropes course and bigger outdoor deck spaces. The ship also offers a live show called “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John.” At 156,300 gross tons and 1,056 feet long, it holds up to 3,550 passengers.

2. Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas is one of the most anticipated new ships of 2026. It’s the third Icon class ship in the fleet, joining Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. Like its sisters, it ranks among the world’s largest cruise ships.

Legend will be the first Icon class ship to debut in Europe. It sets sail in July 2026 with seven-night cruises in the western Mediterranean. Sailings depart from both Barcelona, Spain, and Rome, Italy.

The ship holds 5,610 passengers and features the largest waterpark at sea. Guests can also enjoy 40 bars and restaurants, a high ropes course, and a live stage production of “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” There’s also a one-of-a-kind “Royal Railway” themed dining experience on board.

3. Disney Adventure

Disney Adventure launched in March 2026 and is the eighth ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet. It’s also the biggest Disney ship ever built, weighing in at 208,000 tons with room for over 6,000 guests.

The ship is based in Singapore and offers three, four, and five-night sailings around Asia. Actor Robert Downey Jr., best known for playing Iron Man, serves as the ship’s godparent.

The biggest wow factor? The Marvel-themed Ironcycle Test Run — the first rollercoaster on any Disney cruise ship. The ship also features a Disney castle on board and stretches 820 feet in length, making it the longest cruise ship at sea.

4. Seven Seas Prestige

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is launching its first new ship class in a decade. Seven Seas Prestige is set to debut in December 2026. The 77,000-ton ship carries just 822 guests, making it an ultra-luxury experience.

The crew-to-guest ratio is one of the best at sea — 40% higher than others in the Regent fleet. Guests can expect butler service, upscale lounges, and a brand-new Mediterranean-style restaurant called Azure.

The ship offers 12 suite categories. The crown jewel is the Skyview Regent Suite, a massive 9,000-square-foot space with floor-to-ceiling windows and a wraparound balcony over 3,500 square feet. Its maiden voyage sails from Barcelona to Miami on December 13, 2026.

5. Explora III

Explora III is the newest ship from Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of MSC Cruises. It’s set to launch in August 2026. The ship holds about 900 guests in a refined, resort-style setting.

Like its sister ships, Explora III will offer five heated pools, six restaurants, and 12 bars and lounges. The guest-to-staff ratio is an impressive 1.25 guests per crew member. The maiden voyage departs August 3, 2026, sailing from Barcelona to Lisbon.

6. MSC World Asia

MSC World Asia is the latest ship in MSC Cruises’ World class lineup. It’s scheduled to launch in December 2026. The ship is designed to celebrate Asian culture, art, and landscapes throughout its decor and features.

One of the most eye-catching elements is a giant dragon sculpture hanging in the World Promenade. There’s also a 12-deck-high dry slide inspired by Singapore’s famous Gardens by the Bay. The ship holds 6,782 passengers and sets sail on its maiden voyage December 4, 2026, on a seven-night round trip from Barcelona.

7. Viking Mira

Viking Cruises is expanding its ocean fleet with the launch of Viking Mira in June 2026. Like other Viking ocean ships, Mira is considered a smaller vessel at 54,300 gross tons. It carries 998 guests across 499 staterooms.

The ship features Viking’s signature Scandinavian style throughout its restaurants and bars. Its debut season will include sailings through the Mediterranean and northern Europe. If you’re a fan of understated elegance, Viking’s style is hard to beat.

8. Star Explorer

Windstar Cruises is adding a new ship to its boutique fleet in December 2026. Star Explorer is a yacht-style ship with just 112 suites for 224 guests. Two of those suites are Horizon Owner’s Suites with wraparound balconies.

Onboard highlights include the Yacht Club Cafe and a Marina platform for watersports. The ship will sail year-round in Europe, starting with a voyage from Barcelona in December 2026. It’s also set to be christened at London’s Tower Bridge in May 2027.

9. Tui Aria and Tui Elara

Tui River Cruises is bringing two new ships to European waterways. The first, Tui Aria, is already making waves as the first Tui river ship in Europe with an indoor pool and a retractable roof. At night, the pool floor rises and transforms into a second dining space with Italian-inspired cuisine.

Tui Aria holds 190 passengers across 96 cabins. It sails itineraries like “Moselle and North Rhine” from Frankfurt and “Dutch Delta Discovery” from Amsterdam. A second new ship, Tui Elara, arrives in summer 2027.

Tui Elara is an adults-only ship for 138 passengers. It offers five, seven, and 14-night sailings from Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Basel. Notably, it will be the first Tui ship to sail to Brussels, Belgium.

10. Scenic Group’s New River Ships

Scenic Group has a big lineup of new river ships planned for 2026 through 2028. The ships will sail routes across Europe and Asia. Here’s what’s coming:

• Emerald Astra – Launches May 2026 on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers
• Emerald Nova – Launches June 2027 on Portugal’s Douro River, holding 112 guests
• Scenic Aria – Debuts September 2027 in the same region, for 96 passengers
• Emerald Lumi – Launches in 2027 on the Seine River in France
• Scenic Spirit II – Arrives in early 2028, sailing the Mekong River through Vietnam and Cambodia for 68 guests

Scenic Spirit II will visit ports like Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh. Excursion options include visits to a traditional wet market and the historic Killing Fields.

11. Celebrity River Cruises

Celebrity Cruises is making its river cruise debut in 2027. The Royal Caribbean Group brand plans to bring the same upscale feel of its ocean ships to the world’s most famous rivers. It’s building a fleet of 10 river ships in total.

The first two ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, will sail the Rhine and Danube rivers. Cabins for 2027 are already sold out, but 2028 bookings are now open. This is one to watch closely if river cruising is on your bucket list.

12. Four Seasons Yacht
