Virgin Voyages has announced its thrilling new adventure to Alaska, marking an exciting chapter as Sir Richard Branson’s celebrated travel company sets sail for the Last Frontier in the summer of 2026. After being voted the best large-ship liner by Condé Nast Traveler and the top mega-ship liner by Travel + Leisure for 2024, Virgin Voyages will journey to Alaska’s majestic beauty, showcasing its breathtaking wildlife and vast vistas from May to September.
Brilliant Lady, the newest jewel in Virgin’s fleet, will wrap up its North American tour with 17 unforgettable voyages, exploring 12 captivating destinations. Early access for presale passholders starts this Thursday, while general public sales launch on November 13, with rates anticipated to rise swiftly.
Coinciding with peak orca viewing season, travelers on the Brilliant Lady can witness awe-inspiring scenes along the Pacific Northwest’s scenic shores. These voyages offer endless adventure, perfect for spotting bald eagles, seals, and humpback whales. Engaging shore excursions include salmon fishing, glacier trekking, lumberjack shows, and dog sledding.
Spanning seven to 12 nights, these journeys depart from Seattle and Vancouver, venturing into Alaska’s pristine wilderness and Canada’s untouched northwest. A highlight is the MerMaiden voyage from May 21-28, departing Seattle and stopping in enchanting locations like Ketchikan and Sitka, the latter inspiring the rom-com “The Proposal.” Guests will also explore the Tracy Arm Fjord and Prince Rupert, BC, before returning to Seattle.
Onboard, guests can relax in style, with 86% of cabins featuring balconies with cozy hammocks. The Galley offers food with panoramic views, while The Athletic Club and The Dock provide perfect outdoor viewing spots. Fitness enthusiasts can even enjoy the sights from Virgin’s unique suspended running track. Culinary delights include new “Treat Yourself” enhancements, featuring Alaskan seafood.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, Virgin Voyages’ CEO, explained, “Our Sailors’ enthusiasm for new horizons fuels us to explore new paths. The overwhelming response to our Frontier of the Line passes showed how coveted our Alaskan itineraries are. Sailors now have the chance to visit one of the world’s most stunning destinations on the top-rated cruise line, experiencing fresh talent and flavors that embody the Virgin spirit.”
Since announcing Brilliant Lady’s North American ventures, bookings have exceeded expectations. Debuting in September 2026, the ship will begin sailing from New York, with plans for departures from Miami, LA, and Seattle, including a 16-night Panama Canal journey. While Alaska shines as the star attraction, Virgin Voyages is also introducing a seven-night trip from Los Angeles, featuring Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.
With Virgin Voyages, guests enjoy more inclusive value: specialty dining, Michelin-inspired meals, essential drinks, fast wifi, gratuities, fitness classes, and entertainment are all part of the package.
