Celebrity Cruises New Ship Completes Sea Trials
Celebrity Beyond successfully completed a series of rigorous sea trials last week. The tests took place in the notoriously unpredictable Bay of Biscay, in the Northeast Atlantic.
At the helm was Captain Kate McCue, over 50 crew members and engineers. It was reported that the ship showed its strength, excellence in handling and superb sailing capabilities.
Celebrity Beyond Completes Sea Trials with Flying Colors
The third ship in Celebrity’s Edge class of ships, Celebrity Beyond was said to have displayed a superior level of comfort, safety, maneuverability and fuel efficiency.

“Beyond showed why there is so much more to her than just her looks. Like her sister ships – Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge – she went beyond what was needed to demonstrate she’s ready.”

Celebrity Beyond will not only hold the title of the largest ship in the Celebrity Cruises’ fleet, but the distinction as the brand’s most luxurious vessel.
In less than three months, Celebrity Beyond will debut on April 27, 2022 when the ship will sail from Southampton, England.
Celebrity Beyond Overview
The new ship has 17 decks and is a little over 68-feet longer than her sister ships Celebrity Edge (2018) and Celebrity Apex (2020). Celebrity Beyond’s was designed with a slightly new interior theme while expanding on Celebrity’s most popular signature spaces.

Inaugural Season Cruises
Celebrity Beyond is scheduled to depart on her maiden voyage on April 27, 2022 sailing from Southampton, England on a 10-night Western Europe cruise. Ports visited include Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, Spain.
The remainder of the summer season and early fall offers a series of Mediterranean cruises. These include nine-night Italian Riviera and France itineraries plus 10-night Greek Isles itineraries through early October. The ship will then transition across the Atlantic to begin a winter season of Caribbean cruises.
