American Cruise Lines New Ships and New Itineraries
Itineraries that stretch from coast to coast, north to south.
American Cruise Lines has their 2019-2020 schedule of cruises all planned. The cruise line’s newest ships nicknamed Modern Riverboats plus their paddlewheelers and coastal ships will comprise a whopping total of 11 small ships sailing in the U.S. Some of the most popular routes will offer extended cruises ranging from 5- to 22-days in total.
The just-launched modern riverboat, American Song will head from the Mississippi over to the west coast for a warm weather season spent cruising the Columbia and Snake rivers in Oregon and Washington. Along with American Song will also be two paddlewheelers, American Pride and Queen of the West.
For American Cruise Lines’ second modern riverboat’s first season in 2019, American Harmony will take to the Mississippi along with two paddlewheelers, America and Queen of the Mississippi. Between the two paddlewheelers, this year there are nine different Mississippi River itineraries that extend on the Ohio and Cumberland Rivers.
If east coast cruising on inland waterways sounds good, you’ll be excited to know that their new 175-passenger American Constitution, launched this year, will cruise the Chesapeake Bay, New England and Hudson River.
On the west coast for 2019 and 2020, the American Constellation will ply the waterways of the Pacific Northwest in Puget Sound and San Juan Islands. In the summer, the ship heads up to Alaska for the season.
And for those really into seafood, there are three different itineraries for their themed lobsterbake cruises during the summer in New England.
Hi Karen, Thank you for your comment. I’ve written several articles on solo vs. double occupancy staterooms. More times than not, you can reserve a double occupancy stateroom for the same or less than the cost of those trendy and tiny solo staterooms. That said, Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 has wonderful solo staterooms while other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Norwegian have cleverly designed solo staterooms. If your heart is set on a solo stateroom, book early. Even though they are small, there are not many of these rooms on ships so they tend to sell out sooner rather than later. My opinion? Keep checking for promotions and monitor the rates for solo vs. double with a single supplement. Thank you again for reading my article and have a wonderful cruise!
