If you happened to miss the last Carnival sale, don’t despair. A new Carnival sale begins today and offers some great deals.

The first perk is a reduced deposit. Depending upon the cruise you choose, deposits begin at $50 per person on Early Saver rates. You must book your cruise by April 30, 2016.

More good news is that this promotion extends for cruises from July 2016 all the way into April 2018. Plenty of time to save up if needed.

To encourage cruisers to book now rather than later, Early Saver rates include up to 20% off Fun Select Fares plus free Price Protection. Free Price Protection is Carnival’s way to compensate you if you should find a lower rate.

Carnival wants you to book now and price shop later. If there’s a better price down the road, you or your travel agent notify Carnival through a specific claim form and you’ll receive the difference in price in onboard credit or in the form of a free upgrade. You can read the terms and conditions of the Price Protection on the claim form. It’s pretty straightforward.

If you’re a solo traveler looking for a short cruise getaway, I’ve done some price checking for you. Skimming through eligible Early Saver rates, there are dozens of 4-day cruises leaving from Florida and Los Angeles for under $500 per person for an ocean view stateroom.

Same for a double stateroom with an ocean view…less than $300 per person for a 5-day cruise in early December 2017.

And with their included Price Protection guarantee, if you find the price lower as the sailing date approaches, just file a claim form for an onboard credit or stateroom upgrade. There may be even more perks. Search for your best deals using the options below.
