MSC Cruises just made a big announcement for summer 2027 that UK-based cruisers will want to know about.
MSC Meraviglia Is Heading to Southampton in 2027
The MSC Meraviglia is coming to Southampton, England, for a six-month deployment starting May 18, 2027. The ship will take over from the MSC Virtuosa, which has been sailing from the British port.

“We want to give our customers new experiences, so it’s wonderful that the MSC Meraviglia is sailing from the United Kingdom in Summer 2027,” said Antonio Paradiso, MSC Cruises’ vice president of international sales.
What Cruises Will Be Available?
Northern Europe and the Norwegian Fjords
The Meraviglia will offer cruises ranging from six to 14 nights. Itineraries will cover Northern Europe and the stunning Norwegian Fjords.
Mediterranean Sailings
Longer voyages to the Mediterranean are also part of the lineup. These trips will include stops at some exciting destinations. Think Ibiza in Spain, Tangier in Morocco, and Gibraltar.
What About the MSC Virtuosa?
The MSC Virtuosa won’t be sitting idle. It will spend summer 2027 sailing the Western Mediterranean. Paradiso noted that this shift was driven by customer feedback.
“We’re seeing strong demand from UK customers for Mediterranean cruises, so having the MSC Virtuosa there for Summer 2027 is a natural fit for us,” he said.
MSC Preziosa Coming to Southampton for Winter 2026-27
The good news from MSC doesn’t stop at summer 2027. The MSC Preziosa will sail from Southampton during the winter 2026-27 season. It replaces the MSC Poesia on that route.
“I’m delighted to have the MSC Preziosa back in the UK doing the longest season ever from Southampton,” Paradiso said.
What to Expect on the MSC Preziosa
Built in 2013, the Preziosa will run seven-night cruises. Sailings will visit England, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. The season runs from October 2026 through April 2027.
When Do Bookings Open?
Reservations for the new 2027 MSC Meraviglia and MSC Virtuosa itineraries open on October 14, 2025. If any of these sailings are on your radar, that’s the date to mark on your calendar.
