Holland America’s Volendam Kicks Off Canada & New England Season
The Volendam has arrived in Montreal, marking the start of its summer season. The ship wrapped up a repositioning voyage that began in Fort Lauderdale before docking at the Canadian port in late May.

Cruisers can choose from seven- to 12-night sailings from Montreal. Popular ports on these itineraries include Quebec City, Saguenay, Sept-Îles, and Havre-Saint-Pierre. Other stops include Halifax, Sydney, Corner Brook, St. Anthony, Eastport, and the charming islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon.
A Special Voyage to Greenland and Iceland
One standout offering this season is a 28-night cruise to Canada, Greenland, and Iceland. This round-trip sailing departs from Boston and visits eight Arctic destinations. Highlights include stops at Nanortalik, Qaqortoq, and Djupivogur.
What’s Next for the Volendam
After finishing its East Coast schedule, the Volendam heads to New York for an even bigger adventure. The 45-night “Ultimate Mediterranean & Atlantic Passage” sails round-trip from the U.S. This epic voyage covers 21 destinations across Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Malta, and Tunisia.
Zuiderdam Also Sailing Canada and New England This Summer
The Volendam isn’t sailing alone. Holland America’s Zuiderdam is also running summer itineraries in Canada and New England. The Zuiderdam offers seven- to 14-night cruises between Boston and Quebec City through late October.
A Patriotic July 4th Cruise
In early July, the Zuiderdam will host a special seven-night sailing to mark America’s 250th birthday. The ship departs Boston late on July 4th, giving passengers a front-row view of the city’s famous fireworks display from the water. The round-trip itinerary also includes an overnight stay in New York City, plus stops in Norfolk and Saint John.
