Emerald Waterways Celebrates 4th Birthday

It’s just a little over four years ago that Emerald Waterways launched its first collection of river cruises in Europe. Since then, the Australian brand known for attracting a younger audience has experienced steady growth, expanding its fleet from two to seven ships and adding itineraries in Asia, France, and Portugal.

In just four years, Emerald has received some accolades as well. In 2014, its first year on the rivers in Europe, the line was awarded “Best New River Ships” by Cruise Critic forย Emerald Starย andย Emerald Sky. In 2015 and 2016, the line was again honored by Cruise Critic, winning “Best River Line for Value” two years in a row.

In upcoming 2018, more expansion and growth is on the horizon for Emerald Waterways. They will be introducing two new itineraries on the Rhine River, a new sailing through Holland and Belgium, and an expansion of their popular EmeraldACTIVE program, which encompasses a variety of hikes and bike trips in the places they visit.

Scenic’s family of brands (which Emerald Waterways is part of) has grown over its 30-year history to include award-winning, all-inclusive tours to take travelers to some of the world’s most beautiful places. In 2018 they will launch the World’s First Discovery Yacht –ย Scenic Eclipse. Emerald Waterways’ seven Star-Ships offer deluxe voyages in Europe and a charter on theย MV Navigatorย for sailings in South East Asia. Scenic’s 15 Space-Ships offer the only all-inclusive, five-star river cruises in the same destinations, as well as the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar.
