Princess Cruises just rolled out two exciting dining options on the Diamond Princess. The ship now features Crown Grill steakhouse and Makoto Ocean, a Japanese sushi restaurant.
Both restaurants are open for bookings on all upcoming sailings. The additions give passengers more choices when it comes to specialty dining.
What’s New at Makoto Ocean
Makoto Ocean brings Chef Makoto Okuwa’s signature dishes to the Diamond Princess. The restaurant first appeared on the Sun Princess and Star Princess ships. Now Diamond Princess guests can enjoy the same experience.
The restaurant sits on Deck 7. You’ll find premium menu items like truffle salmon, snow crab temaki, and toro tartare. The drink menu features Japanese-inspired cocktails, including the Genmai Negroni and Kodai No Hana made with yuzu juice and Doburoku sake.
“With Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill now onboard the Diamond Princess, and also recently added onboard sister ship the Sapphire Princess, we’re proud to enhance the guest experience as Diamond Princess sails across Asia and as we look ahead to our dual-ship Japan season in 2027,” said Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises‘ vice president of food and beverage.
Crown Grill Returns to Diamond Princess
Crown Grill has been a popular choice among Princess guests for years. The steakhouse took over the former Savoy Dining Room on Deck 5.
The menu features premium aged beef, chops, and fresh seafood. Princess describes the space as elegant and welcoming with top-notch service.
Pricing and Package Details
Both specialty restaurants cost $55 per person. If you book the Princess Premier package, these dining venues are included at no extra charge.
Where Diamond Princess Sails
The Diamond Princess currently operates roundtrip cruises from Singapore. The ship visits popular Asian destinations like Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Looking ahead, Princess Cruises plans its biggest Japan season ever in 2027. Both the Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will sail from the Tokyo area throughout the entire season.
The 2027 Japan schedule includes 78 departures across 50 different itineraries. Cruises range from seven to 28 days long. Princess calls this a major milestone for the brand’s presence in Asia.
