What to Expect on Board
All 29 Carnival ships will get decked out in Halloween décor. Guests can look forward to festive activities and a costume parade throughout October. Brand Ambassador John Heald summed it up perfectly:
“Halloween is a brilliant time to cruise, and as tradition demands, we will be celebrating this fabulously fun event, featuring a decorated ship Halloween-style and a costume parade throughout the month of October.”
When Do the Sailings Start?
The first “Frightfully Fun” sailing kicks off on September 20, 2026. The Carnival Luminosa will depart from San Francisco to start the season. The fun runs all the way through October 31, 2026.
Which Ships Are Included?
Every Carnival ship joins the Halloween festivities — even the three Australia-based vessels. On Halloween day itself, 12 ships will set sail for their final themed cruises. Those ships include:
- Carnival Adventure
- Carnival Dream
- Carnival Elation
- Carnival Encounter
- Carnival Jubilee
- Carnival Magic
- Mardi Gras
- Carnival Spirit
- Carnival Sunrise
- Carnival Sunshine
- Carnival Valor
- Carnival Vista
One Activity Won’t Be on Every Ship
Most ships will offer the popular Patch the Pumpkin Pirate activity. However, three ships will sit this one out. The Carnival Luminosa, Carnival Legend, and Carnival Freedom will skip this particular event, though they’ll still have plenty of other Halloween fun on board.
Other Carnival News Worth Knowing
Carnival has been busy with some other exciting announcements lately. The line recently revealed plans for its first-ever President’s Cruise, with President Christine Duffy sailing aboard the Carnival Magic in early 2027. Carnival is also rolling out a new cruise card design and an updated milestone program as part of its revamped Carnival Rewards program.
