Good weather prevailed as the 130,000 ton Carnival Breeze completed a set of rigorous sea trials. With the June 3 inaugural in Venice only two weeks away, the Carnival Breeze departed from the Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard today with a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers ready to put the new ship through her paces.
All navigation, technical and mechanical would be tested and retested before they would return to the shipyard.
Carnival Breeze will feature many of the popular innovations on the Dream class sister ships, the Carnival Dream and the Carnival Magic. To keep things exciting, Carnival is adding several really unique venues including the first-ever at sea 4D Thrill Theater complete with a multi-dimensional special effects experience.
Exclusive to the ship is Bonsai Sushi, a full-service sushi restaurant, and Fat Jimmy’s C-Side BBQ, an open-air dining venue featuring a variety of grilled barbecue items and traditional side dishes. Returning favorites include the RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Cantina and Guy’s Burger Joint, featuring five different signature burgers and hand-cut french fries, under the guidance of celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
Following its inaugural 12-day cruise that arrives in Barcelona June 15, Carnival Breeze will operate a summer schedule of Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona through Oct. 25. The ship will then reposition to Miami for year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean departures. For each of the two lengths of cruises, there are a variety of itineraries from which to choose. Smart planning from Carnival; when a guest books another cruise on the Carnival Breeze, they can choose a totally different itinerary than their last cruise.
