As its own restaurant, Bonsai Sushi can be found on several Carnival ships. Since Guy’s Burger Joint closes relatively early in the evening, Carnival’s Bonsai Sushi has become my favorite go-to eatery for dinner. It’s that good.
So when I heard the news that Carnival pop-up Bonsai Sushi dining was added to four more ships – Carnival Conquest, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty and Carnival Glory – I had to write about it!
Where you can find Bonsai Sushi pop-ups
Unlike the actual restaurants, the new pop-up Bonsai Sushi eateries are located on Lido Deck and offer variety of sushi, sashimi and rolls on an a la carte basis. Diners place their order at the counter, given a pager, and then paged when their food is ready.
Sushi and sashimi, including Ebi (shrimp), Sake (salmon), Maguro (tuna) and Hamachi (amberjack), are available for $1.50 per piece. California Rolls and Spicy Tuna Rolls are offered at $5 per roll, with Bang Bang Bonsai Roll and Tempura Roll available at $7.50 each.
Complimentary sushi is also available at the Taste Bar appetizer venue and the Lido Restaurants on select nights. Full-service Bonsai Sushi restaurants can be found on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream, Carnival Legend, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Vista.
I hope that those amazing Green Tea cupcakes that are offered in Bonsai Sushi restaurants will be available in the new Lido venues, too. If you haven’t tried them, it’s a must-do dessert.
