American Duchess Bookings Sell Out

The American Queen Steamboat Company’s newest ship seems to already be a hit – and she isn’t even christened yet! The river cruise line has continued to see high demand for their US river cruises, and the new all-suite American Duchess recently sold out her 2018 Kentucky Derby Cruise within 24 hours of going on sale. Very limited space remains on the inaugural season of the purpose-built paddlewheeler, which was designed for sailing America’s heartland.

Beginning April 29, 2018, the Kentucky Derby Cruise celebrates the “greatest two minutes in sports” with an exciting themed cruise full of Derby festivities. Guests will discover a variety of time-honored traditions and new surprises in beautiful port towns. Stops include Madison, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; Brandenburg, Kentucky; Owensboro, Kentucky; and Cincinnati, Ohio. Time in each town will offer exclusive shore excursions, including a pre-cruise private tour of Churchill Downs and a tour of Maker’s Mark Distillery. The option of a premium Kentucky Derby Day Ticket Package will offer the unique opportunity to experience the exciting final stretch of the derby from the famous Churchill Downs Grandstand.

The American Duchess will feature a general space ratio with three 550 square foot Owner’s Suites, four 550 square foot Loft Suits (a US riverboat first), two 450 square foot Deluxe Suites, spacious Veranda Suites with sliding glass doors to private balconies, and large Interior Suites. Open seating dining will be available in two venues: The Grand Dining Room and The River Club & Terrace, showcasing regionally-inspired cuisine made from local ingredients.
