Celebrity Cruises Deploys Eight Ships Across Europe Right Now

Celebrity Cruises Has Eight Ships Deployed In Europe Right Now

Celebrity Cruises is going big in Europe this summer, with eight ships now sailing across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

Celebrity Cruises’ 2026 European Summer Season

This is one of the largest European deployments Celebrity has put together in recent years. From the brand-new Celebrity Xcel to the well-traveled Celebrity Infinity, there’s a lot happening across the continent right now.

The Star of the Season: Celebrity Xcel

The biggest news this summer is the Celebrity Xcel. This ship is the newest addition to the Celebrity fleet, having entered service in late 2025.

The Xcel is an Edge-class ship, and this is its very first summer season. It’s splitting its time between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

Where the Xcel Is Sailing

The ship departs from both Barcelona and Piraeus (the port for Athens, Greece). Cruises range from seven to 11 nights and visit destinations like Spain, Malta, Greece, Turkey, France, and Italy.

One of the standout options is an 11-night cruise to Madeira Island. These itineraries also include stops in Portugal and Morocco, making them a great pick for travelers who want a little variety.

Other Celebrity Ships in the Mediterranean

The Xcel isn’t sailing alone. Three other Celebrity ships are also offering summer cruises in the Mediterranean.

  • Celebrity Ascent
  • Celebrity Equinox
  • Celebrity Constellation

The Celebrity Infinity rounds out the Mediterranean lineup. It sails year-round in the region and focuses on Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean during the summer months.

Hidden Gems on the Infinity

What makes the Infinity’s itineraries stand out is its focus on lesser-known ports. Sailing from Piraeus, the ship visits places like Hydra, Thessaloniki, and Kavala — spots you won’t find on every cruise itinerary.

Northern Europe: Iceland, Scandinavia, and More

Two Celebrity ships are spending the summer in Northern Europe. The Celebrity Eclipse and Celebrity Apex are both sailing itineraries that visit Scandinavia, the British Isles, Iceland, and the Baltic region.

These are great options if you’re looking for something beyond the typical Mediterranean cruise.

Celebrity Silhouette Heads to Iceland

A third ship will join the Northern Europe lineup a bit later in the season. The Celebrity Silhouette is currently sailing to Bermuda from Cape Liberty, New Jersey, but it will reposition to Europe later this year.

Iceland Intensive Itineraries

Once in Iceland, the Silhouette will offer seven-night cruises departing from Reykjavik. These sailings run from early July through late August.

The ship’s “Iceland Intensive” itineraries circle the entire island. Ports of call include Seydisfjordur, Isafjordur, and Akureyri — giving travelers a deep dive into Icelandic culture and scenery.

When Does the European Season End?

Celebrity’s European season wraps up in November. After that, ships will reposition to the Caribbean and the Canary Islands for the winter season.

If a European cruise is on your bucket list, this summer and fall offer plenty of choices across a wide range of destinations.
