Norwegian Cruise Line Announces New Itineraries, Homeports in 2020

Norwegian Cruise Line fans take note – where to find your ship in 2020-2021.

It looks like 2020 will be a busy year for Norwegian Cruise Line as it repositions four of their most popular ships to various ports around the USA. Plus a peek at other upcoming new cruise itineraries just ahead.

Bahamas and Florida, Caribbean and Panama Canal

Norwegian Joy

Formerly cruising in China, Norwegian Joy will homeport in Miami for the first time. Itineraries will be a mix ofย  five-to-seven-day Western and Eastern Caribbean voyages.

Beginning Oct. 24, the shipโ€™s Western Caribbean cruises will include calls to Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico while its Eastern Caribbean voyages will include Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands and the companyโ€™s private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Norwegian Encore

After a summer spent cruising from New York, Norwegian Encore will head back to Miami. The ship will offer seven-day cruises to the Western Caribbean. Ports of call include Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

Norwegian Encore will also add 12-to-13-day cruises through the Panama Canal, with port visits to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Willemstad, Curacao; Oranjestad, Aruba; Santa Marta and Cartagena, Colombia; Colon, Panama; and Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.

Norwegian Escape

Beginning Nov. 21, the 4,266-passenger Norwegian Escape will homeport in Port Canaveral. From its new home on the Space Coast, Norwegian Escape will cruise five-and-seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Ports of call will be to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas; Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Cayman Islands; and Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The ship will also sail two, four-day Bahamas cruises with stopping at Nassau, Freeport and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas.

Norwegian Breakaway

On November 22, after a summer in Miami, Norwegian Breakaway returns to homeport in New Orleans. Itineraries include seven-day voyages to the Western Caribbean. Ports of call will be Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

Norwegian Epic

Once at home in Port Canaveral, beginning Dec. 20 Norwegian Epic will homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Seven-day Southern Caribbean cruises will visit Willemstad, Curacao; Oranjestad, Aruba; Castries, St. Lucia; Basseterre, St. Kitts; and Kralendijk, Bonaire.

Norwegian Getaway

Norwegian Getaway will cruise from New York on seven-and-eight-day cruises to the Bahamas and Florida. On the itinerary are Port Canaveral, Florida; Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. Five-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from Miami are also planned with calls atย Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas as well as seven-day Western Caribbean cruises with calls to Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

Norwegian Gem

For longer cruises from New York, Norwegian Gem returns to New York for a series ofย 10,11,12 and 14-day Southern Caribbean voyages. The ship will call at Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; St. Johnโ€™s, Antigua; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; Basseterre, St. Kitts; St. Maarten, Netherlands; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. These longer cruises begin on Nov. 20.

Norwegian Jade

From its homeport in Tampa, FL beginning on Nov. 22, Norwegian Jade will cruise to the Western and Southern Caribbean through April 11. Seven-day cruises to the Western Caribbean will include calls to Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico while Southern Caribbean cruises will visit George Town, Cayman Islands; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Castries, St. Lucia; Basseterre, St. Kitts; St. Johnโ€™s, Antigua; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Norwegian Pearl

From Miami and accommodating 2,394-passengers, Norwegian Pearl will also sail a series of Western and Southern Caribbean cruises. In the mix are Panama Canal and Bahamas itineraries that start on Nov. 4. The five-day Western Caribbean voyages visit Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico.

Norwegian Pearlโ€™s 11-day Panama Canal cruises will include the ports of Cartagena, Colombia; Colon, Panama; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Roatan Island, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; and Costa Maya, Mexico.

Fourteen-day voyages to the Southern Caribbean will stop in Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire; then onto Castries, St. Lucia; Bridgetown, Barbados; St. Johnโ€™s, Antigua; St. Maarten, Netherlands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Mexican Riviera

On Oct. 18, 2020, Norwegian Bliss will return to Los Angeles for five-to-seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera. Ports includeย  Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Ensenada. Also planned is a 16-day Panama Canal cruises from Los Angeles to Miami and back, with calls at Santa Marta and Cartagena, Colombia; Curacao and Aruba; Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; and Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Before the turnaround back through the Panama Canal, Norwegian Bliss will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean voyages with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas.

Australia

After a massive renovation, Norwegian Jewel begin cruises Australia and New Zealand beginning Oct. 9. Ports will include Milford Sound, Doubtful Fjord, Dusky Fjord, Dunedin, Picton, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga, Bay of Islands and Auckland.

All itineraries are open to book except Norwegian Jewel and Pearl which will open for sale on Dec. 21.
