Virgin Voyages Is Moving Its New York Embarkation to Brooklyn
Virgin Voyages is making a change for New York City cruisers. Starting in spring 2026, their ships will sail from a different terminal in the city.
Virgin Voyages Moves to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal
Virgin Voyages has announced a terminal switch for its New York City sailings. Beginning April 6, 2026, all departures will leave from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The cruise line previously sailed from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.

The company confirmed the change in a message sent directly to booked guests. The new terminal applies to all scheduled sailings from New York City.
The Valiant Lady’s New York Schedule
The Valiant Lady is the ship Virgin Voyages will deploy in New York City. This ship holds up to 2,770 guests. It will operate two seasons out of Brooklyn in 2026.
The spring season runs from early to late April. The ship then returns in late September for a fall season that wraps up in late October.
What Cruises Are Available?
Virgin Voyages offers trips ranging from five to 12 nights. Popular destinations include Bermuda and the Caribbean. There’s also a special fall foliage cruise to Canada and New England.
The fall foliage sailing departs in late September. It visits Boston, Portland, Saint John, and Halifax. This itinerary is one of the standout options in Virgin’s New York lineup.
Trans-Atlantic Crossing from Brooklyn
One of the most exciting sailings on the schedule is a trans-Atlantic crossing. The Valiant Lady departs Brooklyn in late April for a 14-night voyage. It heads to Portugal, Spain, and Morocco.
Ports of call include Funchal, Málaga, Tangier, and Palma de Mallorca. The ship also stops in Ponta Delgada in Portugal’s Azores Archipelago. The voyage ends in Barcelona.
MSC Cruises Leaving New York City
In related news, MSC Cruises is ending its New York City sailings. The MSC Meraviglia will say goodbye to Brooklyn in April. The ship currently offers week-long cruises to the Bahamas and Florida from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
In the past, the Meraviglia also sailed to Canada, New England, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Those options will no longer be available from New York once the ship moves on.
Other Cruise Lines Still Sailing from New York City
New York City remains a busy homeport for several cruise lines. Carnival, Norwegian, and Cunard all offer regular sailings from the city. Royal Caribbean Group brands depart from the nearby Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne, New Jersey.
