The Hidden Changes to Carnival 2027 Mediterranean Cruises
Carnival Cruise Line is making a small but notable change to two of its 2027 Mediterranean sailings aboard the Carnival Miracle.
What’s Changing on These Carnival Miracle Cruises?
Guests booked on the October 16 and October 26, 2027, sailings will notice one port swap on their itinerary. Santorini is out, and Souda Bay in Crete is in.

From Souda Bay, passengers can explore Chania, one of Crete’s most charming and historic cities. The port times for Souda Bay and the Turkish port of Kusadasi have also been updated to reflect this change.
Carnival described it as a “slight itinerary adjustment” but did not give a specific reason for the swap. The notice went out to affected guests in late March 2026.
What Happens to Shore Excursions?
If you pre-booked a Carnival shore excursion, don’t stress. The company says those tours will be automatically updated based on the new itinerary, where possible.
Any tours you booked for Santorini that are now canceled will be refunded. That money goes back to your original form of payment.
What Does the Updated Itinerary Look Like?
Both sailings are ten-night cruises that depart roundtrip from Civitavecchia, Italy. Along with the new stop in Souda Bay, you’ll visit several other great destinations.
The itinerary includes stops at:
- Mykonos, Greece
- Piraeus, Greece (gateway to Athens)
- Katakolon, Greece (near ancient Olympia)
- Naples, Italy
- Kusadasi, Turkey
That’s still a solid lineup of ports, even without Santorini.
Where Else Is the Carnival Miracle Sailing in 2027?
The Carnival Miracle has a busy year ahead. After spending the winter of 2026–27 sailing from Galveston, Texas, the ship heads to Europe for an extended season.
Starting in May, the Spirit-class ship offers eight- to 12-night itineraries from Dover, UK. Those sailings cover the British Isles, the Baltic, and Western Europe.
In September, the Miracle moves south for both Western and Eastern Mediterranean cruises out of Civitavecchia. Then, by mid-November, the ship returns to North America for Caribbean and Bahamas sailings departing from Baltimore.
It’s a well-traveled ship with a lot to offer cruisers in 2027.
