The Biggest New Ships Coming to Norwegian, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings just made a big announcement that cruise fans will want to hear about. Four new ships are coming to its family of cruise lines!
Four New Ships on the Way
Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri is constructing four new vessels. One ship will go to each of these brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas. The fourth will also join the Norwegian fleet. Deliveries are expected between 2036 and 2037.

This brings the total number of ships on order across all three brands to 17. That’s eight for Norwegian Cruise Line, five for Oceania Cruises, and four for Regent Seven Seas.
What’s New for Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises is known for its focus on food and culinary experiences. Its new ship will weigh in at 86,000 gross tons and hold about 1,390 passengers. The ship will be a sister ship to the Oceania Sonata, which debuts in August 2027.
The Sonata will kick things off with a two-week Mediterranean cruise from Rome. Stops will include Catania, Italy; Valletta, Malta; Katakolon, Greece; Bar, Montenegro; and Zadar, Croatia. The new sister ship will offer a very similar experience when it launches later.
What’s New for Regent Seven Seas
Regent Seven Seas is one of the most luxurious cruise lines out there. The new Regent ship will have a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and around 822 cabins. It will be the fourth ship in the Prestige class.
This vessel will be a sister ship to the Seven Seas Prestige. The Prestige makes its first sailing in December 2026, traveling from Barcelona to Miami.
Norwegian Cruise Line Goes Even Bigger
Norwegian Cruise Line already had plans for five massive new ships starting in 2030. Now, a sixth has been added to that group. This new megaship will weigh about 227,000 gross tons and carry more than 5,000 guests.
Norwegian also has ships already in the pipeline before these new ones arrive. The Norwegian Luna launches this year, and the Norwegian Aura follows in 2027. Both are part of the Prima Plus class.
Why This Is Big News for Cruisers
More ships mean more choices for travelers. Whether you love luxury, great food, or big resort-style ships, there’s something here for you. John W. Chidsey, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, summed it up well:
“Together with Fincantieri, a trusted partner for decades, we continue to advance a disciplined approach to fleet growth that builds on the strength of our brands, defines the future of cruising and elevates the guest experience for years to come.”
It’s clear that Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is investing heavily in the future. Cruisers will have plenty of exciting new options to look forward to in the years ahead.
