Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas Is Heading to Asia
Royal Caribbean has announced a brand-new lineup of sailings for 2027-28. The Spectrum of the Seas will cruise to 22 destinations across Asia, with trips ranging from three to 11 nights.

Sailings will depart from Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Trip lengths range from quick weekend getaways to longer 11-night adventures. There’s truly something for every type of traveler.
One exciting new feature stands out. For the first time ever, guests can sail one way between cities. You can start or end your trip in Tokyo, making it easier to plan your travel around the cruise.

“This new lineup reflects our continued commitment to the China market and our ambition to deliver more diverse and immersive vacations,” he said.
Spring and Fall Sailings From Shanghai
Spring Blossom Journey
Love cherry blossoms and spring scenery? This sailing is for you. In May 2027, the Spectrum will visit China, Japan, and South Korea during peak spring bloom season. The ship will even include overnight stays in Beijing, docking at the port of Tianjin.
Autumn Foliage Escape
Fall lovers will want to check out the October 2027 sailings. These trips feature stunning fall foliage across the region. Ports of call include Seoul (Incheon) in South Korea and Sapporo, Japan, accessed through the port of Muroran.
Eight-night options are also available. These include overnight stays in both Osaka and Tokyo, giving you more time to explore each city.
Short Getaways and Summer Sailings
Not everyone wants a long cruise, and Royal Caribbean has you covered. Shorter options from Shanghai include:
- Three- to four-night escapes with stops at the beautiful Cheonjiyeon Falls in Jeju and the famous seafood markets in Busan, South Korea
- Five- to eight-night summer getaways hitting popular spots like Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Busan, and Jeju
