Royal Caribbean Asks Guests to Cancel February 2026 Oasis of the Seas Cruise

Royal Caribbean recently reached out to certain guests with an unusual request. The cruise line asked them to consider canceling their bookings for a specific sailing. The voyage in question is the February 7, 2026 departure on Oasis of the Seas.
The company sent letters to select passengers with what they called “flexible travel arrangements.” They were looking for people who might be willing to change their plans.
A Sweet Deal for Flexibility
“If your plans are set in stone, please mark this email as ‘read’ and gear up for your upcoming adventure – although there is a pretty sweet option below,” Royal Caribbean said.
The offer was pretty generous. Guests who agreed to cancel would get a full 100 percent refund of everything they paid. Plus, they’d receive a 50 percent future cruise credit to use on another Royal Caribbean sailing.
The cruise line went even further with the refund. They promised to reimburse non-refundable travel expenses guests already purchased. This could include things like flights or hotel stays.
How the Future Cruise Credit Works
The future cruise credit equals 50 percent of what guests paid for their original booking. Passengers can use this credit on any sailing that departs by February 7, 2027. That gives people a full year to plan their replacement cruise.
“Please note that this special offer is valid for a limited time and subject to availability,” Royal Caribbean added. Interested guests could respond through a survey.
“If you are happy to be excluded from the special offer, please disregard this email – no further action is required,” the company added.
About the February 2026 Sailing
The Oasis of the Seas will depart from Fort Lauderdale on February 7, 2026. The ship will sail on an eight-night journey to the Southern Caribbean. It’s a popular route that many cruisers enjoy.
The itinerary includes stops at Oranjestad in Aruba and Willemstad in Curaçao. Guests will also spend four days cruising through the Caribbean. The ship holds up to 5,664 passengers.
Before heading back to Port Everglades, the ship will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay. This is Royal Caribbean‘s private island destination in the Bahamas.
Not the First Time
This isn’t a new strategy for Royal Caribbean. According to Cruise Industry News, the company made similar offers throughout 2025. One recent case happened in August when Royal Caribbean asked guests to downgrade their cabin categories. They offered incentives for that change too.
These voluntary change programs help cruise lines manage bookings. They can adjust passenger counts or cabin assignments without forcing changes on guests. It’s a win-win when passengers have flexibility in their travel plans.
