Regent Seven Seas Announces “Model” Godmother for New Ship

You might recognize her from Sports Illustrated or Covergirl, but now, actress and model Christie Brinkley will be honored as the godmother of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ newest, sleekest ship:  Seven Seas Splendor.

With just a few final finishing touches left, Seven Seas Splendor is currently under construction at the shipyard on the Adriatic coast of Italy.

An age-old tradition in the maritime world, a ship’s godmother bestows a ship with good luck and protection. On February 21, 2020, Brinkley will christen the Seven Seas Splendor to launch its inaugural season.

During the year of 2020, you’ll find the all-balcony and all-suite Seven Seas Splendor sailing back and forth from Europe to the Caribbean. In between there will be two back-to-back Panama Canal transits before heading to Europe for the summer, all under the steady hand of experienced Captain Serena Melani. Captain Melani will become the first woman in cruise industry history to be at the helm of a newly-launched ocean cruise ship.

What we can expect from the Seven Seas Splendor

With 592 highly trained and passionate staff members, each of the ship’s 750 guests can expect a warm, attentive experience. At 307 square feet, the Veranda Suite may be the ship’s smallest, but a stay here will be unforgettable, with plush accommodations and your own own private balcony. And, at 4,443 square feet, a stay at the opulent Regent Suite includes first class airline tickets, an in-suite spa retreat, a personal butler, and a private car and driver at every stop.

Guests can also view master chef demonstrations at the ship’s 18-station Culinary Arts Kitchen or relax at Serene Spa & Wellness. From the Seven Seas Splendor’s impressive multi-million dollar art collection to its gorgeous Italian marble interior, you’ll cross the seven seas in the height of luxury.
