The Norwegian Pearl is getting some exciting new features right now. The cruise ship is spending time at a shipyard in Marseille, France for major improvements.
This marks the second ship in Norwegian’s Jewel class to receive upgrades this fall. The Pearl arrived at Chantiers Naval de Marseille on November 4, 2025.
New Adults-Only Retreat Coming Soon
The biggest addition is the new Vibe Beach Club. This adults-only outdoor lounge will give grown-ups a peaceful place to relax away from the crowds.
Norwegian Cruise Line plans to put this new space on Deck 14’s sundeck. It will be separate from the ship’s main pool area.
The Vibe Beach Club will feature 54 premium lounge chairs and seven private cabanas. There’s also an extra hot tub for guests to enjoy.
Premium Amenities and Service
Norwegian promises the outdoor venue will offer “a quiet, serene atmosphere with ocean views and a full-service bar.” Guests can look forward to special touches like chilled towels and fruit skewers.
The cruise line also mentions personalized service as part of the Vibe Beach Club experience. This sounds like a great way to unwind during sea days.
Following Sister Ship’s Lead
The Norwegian Jewel received similar upgrades recently. That ship spent nearly 20 days in drydock starting in late September.
Norwegian says these projects aim at “delivering guests more to do and more to enjoy while offering the freedom and flexibility to design their very best vacation.” The cruise line wants to give passengers more options onboard.
What’s Next for Norwegian Pearl
The Pearl will head back to sea in late November. First up is a trans-Atlantic cruise to Miami to get back to her home waters.
After that, the 2,400-guest ship will start cruising to popular destinations. The schedule includes trips to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Panama Canal.
Many of these cruises will visit Great Stirrup Cay. This is Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas, which is also getting updates this year.
Summer 2026 Mediterranean Season
The Pearl isn’t staying in the Caribbean forever. She’ll return to Europe for Mediterranean cruises in summer 2026.
These European itineraries will depart from several ports. Guests can board in Greece, Spain, and Italy from cities like Piraeus, Barcelona, and Ravenna.
The upgrades should make the Pearl even more appealing for these longer European voyages. Having an adults-only retreat will be especially nice on sea days crossing the Atlantic or Mediterranean.
