Norwegian Cruise Line just announced its biggest entertainment lineup yet for Norwegian Luna. The new ship debuts in March 2026 with a glittering tribute to Elton John, a futuristic mixed reality show, and exciting experiences for all ages.

The entertainment package shows NCL’s commitment to creating shows you can’t see anywhere else. These productions come from the cruise line’s Creative Studios in Tampa, Florida.

Rocket Man Brings Elton John’s Hits to Sea

The main attraction is “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John,” a high-energy concert-style tribute show. The production features Elton’s biggest hits including “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”

The show uses archival footage and imagery from Elton’s career spanning five decades. You’ll see powerhouse vocals, jaw-dropping choreography, and fashion-forward costumes that honor Elton’s signature style.

The stage design includes vibrant LED visuals, stunning scenic elements, and four different grand pianos. Interactive elements immerse you in the music and spirit of one of the most iconic performers ever.

Harry Sommer leads Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings as president and CEO. “Norwegian Cruise Line has a proud history of revolutionizing entertainment at sea—from pioneering Broadway-caliber onboard productions to continuously creating original, only-on-NCL experiences,” Sommer said. “As a lifelong music fan, I’m especially excited to celebrate the work of Elton John, an icon whose influence spans generations, with a show that is as dynamic and unforgettable as the artist himself.”

Elton John sold over 300 million records with more than 70 top 40 hits. He’s the most successful solo male artist in U.S. chart history and an EGOT winner (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards).

World-Class Creative Team Behind the Shows

A visionary creative team brings “Rocket Man” to life. Their credits span the Big Game Halftime Show, Cirque du Soleil, and global music tours.

Choreographer Katy Tate and Emmy Award-winning choreographer Tabitha D’umo serve as creative directors. Kley Tarcitano designed the scenic elements while Sky Switser created the costumes. Together, they crafted one of the most dynamic productions ever staged at sea.

HIKO Combines Cirque Artistry with Mixed Reality

“HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder” is a groundbreaking sci-fi production that blends Cirque artistry with mixed reality visuals. The otherworldly show uses cutting-edge 3D mapping, multi-sensory video projection, and a fully original score exclusive to NCL.

NCL introduces its first original character, HIKO, who guests can meet throughout Norwegian Luna. This interactive experience brings the magic beyond just the stage show.

The production features four elite gymnasts performing gravity-defying acts. That’s the most gymnasts ever in an NCL show. They perform against mesmerizing visuals wearing sci-fi-inspired costumes designed by Guy Brassard, a longtime Cirque du Soleil collaborator.

Kids Get Their Own Interactive Festival

“Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival” is a brand-new experience designed specifically for children. This first-of-its-kind original production was developed in-house by NCL.

The enchanting event follows an inquisitive fish on an interactive adventure through the ocean. Inspired by nostalgic field day activities, it features glow games, whimsical costumes, and awe-inspiring visuals.

The festival invites families to play, learn, and connect through hands-on imagination. It shows NCL’s commitment to creating age-appropriate entertainment for younger cruisers.

Classic Rock Gets a New Tribute Show

Syd Norman’s Pour House returns with “Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles.” The new show brings classic rock anthems and the spirit of the 1970s to the Luna Theater.

This follows the success of “Syd Norman’s Presents: Rumours” on other Norwegian ships. The bar and entertainment space inspired by L.A.’s 1960s rock scene gets upgrades on Norwegian Luna. New additions include a throwback ’90s set and Live Band Karaoke.

Adults-Only Show Brings Vegas Vibes

“LunaTique” debuts as Norwegian Luna’s exclusive production for guests 21 and older. The after-hours experience takes place at The Improv at Sea, NCL’s comedy venue.

Inspired by Las Vegas nightlife, the show features neon aesthetics, signature cocktails, and character-driven performances. Classic circus archetypes like ringmasters, acrobats, clowns, and strongmen get reimagined as edgy, fashion-forward personas.

Brooklyn-based designers James Nguyen and A.C. Gottlieb created the costumes. They’re known for their inventive work with rising pop star Chappell Roan. Their designs make “LunaTique” one of the most visually striking experiences aboard Norwegian Luna.

New Deck Parties and Nightclub Programming

Norwegian Luna transforms its theater into a three-story Vegas-style nightclub. The Luna Theater & Club features an expansive dance floor, an interactive chandelier, state-of-the-art lighting, and two bars.

New nightclub programming includes the Norwegian Luna Eclipse Party, a festival-inspired glow party. “Planetdisco” transports guests to an electrifying world of classic disco with a lively ensemble of performers.

Two brand-new deck party concepts heat things up:

Island Nights brings vibrant island spirit to life with a modern pop edge. Latin LIVE features multiple percussionists, a live band, dynamic vocalists, and live dance performances.

Bryan White serves as vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Creating the entertainment lineup for Norwegian Luna has been an incredible and fulfilling journey,” White said. “We’re fortunate to partner with the most innovative and respected creators in the industry, so we can keep raising the bar and giving our guests the world-class entertainment NCL is known for.”

Where Norwegian Luna Will Sail

Norwegian Luna starts sailing in April 2026 from Miami. The ship offers seven-day Western Caribbean voyages to Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye (NCL’s resort-style destination in Belize).

Other seven-day itineraries visit Puerto Plata, Tortola, St. Thomas, and Great Stirrup Cay. NCL’s private island in the Bahamas is adding a nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark. The new waterpark features 19 waterslides, cliffside jumps, a dynamic river, swim-up bars, a heated pool, and expanded cabanas.

From April 2027 through October 2027, Norwegian Luna offers four- and seven-day round-trip cruises to Bermuda from New York. These sailings include more time in port and overnight stays in Bermuda. You can enjoy pink sandy beaches, catamaran boat rides, cave dives, and sunset cruises.

What Makes This Entertainment Lineup Special

Norwegian Luna’s entertainment represents NCL’s bold move toward immersive, headline-worthy programming. The shows cater to everyone from lifelong music lovers and pop culture enthusiasts to multigenerational families.

The Elton John tribute stands out because it celebrates a universally beloved artist. The mixed reality technology in HIKO pushes boundaries for what’s possible at sea. The dedicated kids’ experience shows NCL values entertainment for all ages.

These productions build on Norwegian’s tradition of revolutionizing entertainment at sea. The cruise line pioneered Broadway-caliber onboard productions and continues creating original experiences you can only see on NCL ships.
