Norwegian Luna Is Heading to Miami

The Norwegian Luna set sail from Civitavecchia, Italy, on March 10, 2026. This 13-night repositioning voyage is bringing the brand-new ship to the United States for the very first time. Along the way, the ship stopped in Barcelona, Spain, and Gibraltar before spending nine days at sea.

The ship is scheduled to arrive at PortMiami on March 23, 2026. That will mark its first-ever call to a U.S. port.

What Happens After the Ship Arrives

Once the Norwegian Luna docks in Miami, the fun begins. Norwegian Cruise Line has planned a series of inaugural events and activities to celebrate the ship’s arrival. Before the big maiden voyage, the ship will offer pre-inaugural cruises to the Bahamas.

These shorter trips run three and four nights. They visit Nassau and Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

The Inaugural Voyage Sets Sail April 4

The Norwegian Luna officially kicks off its first voyage on April 4, 2026. This seven-night cruise heads to the Western Caribbean. Guests will visit Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, Harvest Caye in Belize, and Roatán in Honduras.

After that first sailing, the ship shifts to Eastern Caribbean itineraries. Through late October 2026, the Luna will sail a regular route from PortMiami. That route includes Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Every sailing also stops at Great Stirrup Cay.

What Kind of Ship Is the Norwegian Luna?

The Norwegian Luna belongs to Norwegian’s Prima class. It is closely related to the Norwegian Aqua and is slightly larger than the original ships in this series. The ship holds up to 3,571 passengers and weighs in at 156,300 gross tons.

Cool Features on Board

One of the most talked-about features is the Aqua Slidecoaster. This one-of-a-kind ride is a hybrid between a roller coaster and a waterslide. It is sure to be a hit with thrill-seekers of all ages.

Dining Options

Food lovers will have plenty of choices on the Norwegian Luna. The ship features the Indulge Food Hall, an upscale food market with multiple stations. Each station offers a different type of cuisine, so there is something for everyone.

The Norwegian Luna looks like a strong addition to Norwegian’s fleet, especially for those sailing out of Miami this spring and summer.
