Norwegian Cruise Line just added a brand-new ship to its Miami fleet. Here’s what you need to know about the Norwegian Luna and where it’s headed.

Norwegian Luna Arrives at PortMiami

The Norwegian Luna made its first-ever stop at PortMiami on March 23, 2026. The ship was built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and sailed across the Atlantic to reach Florida. Along the way, it stopped in Spain and the United Kingdom before crossing into North America. It was a scenic 13-night journey to kick things off.

A Quick Bahamas Trip Before the Real Fun Begins

Right after docking in Miami, the Luna set sail on a four-night cruise to the Bahamas. Think of it as a warm-up run before the main season got underway. Starting in early April, the ship shifted into its regular schedule.

What Caribbean Cruises Does the Norwegian Luna Offer?

The Norwegian Luna now sails seven-night Caribbean cruises out of Miami. The ship holds up to 3,571 guests. These sailings run through late October 2026.

Eastern Caribbean Itineraries

The Luna’s regular Eastern Caribbean itinerary hits some great spots. Stops include Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. The ship also calls at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas.

Inaugural Western Caribbean Sailing

The Luna’s very first sailing from Miami heads to the Western Caribbean. This is a one-time itinerary before the ship settles into its regular Eastern Caribbean routes.

PortMiami Is Thrilled to Have Her

PortMiami officially welcomed the Norwegian Luna with excitement. The port shared the news on social media and said its team was thrilled to greet the ship for its inaugural season. The Luna joins five other Norwegian ships already sailing from Miami, including its sister ship, the Norwegian Aqua.

What’s Next for the Norwegian Luna?

The Luna will sail from Miami through mid-April 2026. Then it repositions to New York City for a summer season. The Norwegian Aqua will return to Miami in mid-October for the 2026-27 winter season. At that point, the Aqua will cover Eastern Caribbean routes while the Luna shifts to Western Caribbean sailings.

Other Norwegian ships currently sailing from PortMiami include the Encore, Jewel, Pearl, and Getaway. Miami is clearly a busy hub for Norwegian fans this season.
