NCL’s “Happy Birthday” Package Gets a Makeover

The cruise line has updated its “Happy Birthday” onboard package. The biggest change? The six-inch cake is gone.

In its place, guests will now receive a photo keepsake. Norwegian explained the reasoning in a message sent directly to guests.

“Moving forward, the cake will be replaced with a photo keepsake so you can take home a memory that lasts long after the candles are blown out,” the company said.

What’s Now Included in the Package

The refreshed package still includes festive cabin decorations and a celebration banner. But the new photo-focused additions are what set it apart.

Guests will receive a “Compass Collection” photo frame and a photo voucher. Norwegian values that voucher at $29.95, and it can be applied toward any photo or photo package onboard.

Norwegian described the update as intentional and guest-focused. “It is a small shift designed to make your celebration feel more personal and more connected to your time onboard,” the company said.

How Much Does It Cost?

The “Happy Birthday” package is available for pre-cruise purchase at $69. You’ll need to book it before your sailing date.

Norwegian was clear that this change is about creating lasting memories. “This package has been refreshed as part of our continued effort to elevate the way we celebrate life’s moments at sea,” the company noted.

Missing the cake? Norwegian still sells cakes separately for onboard celebrations.
