MSC Will Operate Eight Ships in Europe for Winter 2027 to 2028

MSC Cruises has big plans for the 2027-28 winter season in Europe. Eight ships will fan out across the continent, giving travelers plenty of exciting options.

MSC Cruises’ Winter 2027-28 European Lineup

The fleet will cover three main regions: the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Canary Islands. That’s a lot of ground — and a lot of sea — to cover. Here’s a breakdown of what’s planned.

Western Mediterranean: Five Ships, Lots of Ports

Five MSC ships will cruise the Western Mediterranean that winter. Destinations include popular spots in Spain, France, Italy, Malta, and Tunisia.

MSC World Asia

The brand-new MSC World Asia is one of the most exciting additions. This LNG-powered ship is set to debut later in 2025. It will run seven-night cruises to Spain, France, Italy, and Malta year-round.

MSC Euribia and MSC Lirica

Both ships will sail different seven-night routes around the Western Mediterranean. Travelers can visit a mix of ports in Spain, France, Italy, and Tunisia. Having two ships with different itineraries gives you more flexibility.

MSC Seaview

This will be the MSC Seaview’s first winter in the Western Mediterranean. The ship will visit Italy, Spain, France, and Malta. One thing worth noting: the current schedule shows a 64-day gap between mid-January and late March 2028.

MSC Magnifica

The MSC Magnifica rounds out the Western Mediterranean lineup. It will offer ten-night winter cruises before heading off on a world cruise in early 2028. If you want a longer, more leisurely sailing, this could be a great pick.

Eastern Mediterranean: MSC Orchestra

The MSC Orchestra will handle Eastern Mediterranean sailings. Ports of call include stops in Italy, Turkey, and Greece. It’s a classic route that never gets old.

Northern Europe: MSC Preziosa

MSC is sending the MSC Preziosa north for the season. It will sail to England, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. Winter in Northern Europe has a charm all its own, with festive markets and cozy port towns.

Canary Islands and Madeira: MSC Fantasia

The MSC Fantasia will offer a full season of seven-night cruises to the Canary Islands and Madeira. Stops include Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Arrecife de Lanzarote, and Funchal. These islands are a favorite winter escape because of their mild weather and stunning scenery.

A Growing Fleet

By late 2027, MSC Cruises will welcome the MSC World Atlantic to its fleet. That brings the total to 25 ships for the 2027-28 winter season. Beyond Europe, MSC ships will also sail the Caribbean, South America, Asia, South Africa, and the Middle East during that same period. It’s shaping up to be a massive season for one of the world’s largest cruise lines.
