Holland America will bring a 7th ship for Alaska cruises next season
It’s been a booming season this year for Alaska cruises with many travelers choosing to cruise closer to home. Seeing this as a trend that may continue into next year, Holland America will take Oosterdam off their 2017 Mediterranean itinerary and instead the ship will head north for a season of Alaska cruises.
Including the Oosterdam in 2017, Holland America will have seven ships plying Alaska’s waterways. In total, Holland America will have a record number of 135 scheduled Alaska departures next year, topping all other cruise lines’ Alaska presence.
Beginning late April and continuing through late September, there will be a total of 126 seven-night cruises and nine 14-night cruises.
Alaska cruises 2017 schedule
Oosterdam: From April through September, a total of 21 seven-night cruises round-trip from Seattle. Ports of call will include Sitka, Juneau, Ketchikan and a visit to beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Volendam and Zaandam: 46 departures from Vancouver on 7-night round-trip cruises and 18 north or southbound seven-night cruises between Vancouver and Seward.
Eurodam: will depart from Seattle on 22 seven-night round-trip cruises.
Amsterdam: one seven-night cruise from Seattle and then a series of 14-night cruises between Seattle and Anchorage. These longer voyages are combinable with Holland America’s extensive land packages to get to the heart of Alaska.
Every itinerary for 2017 includes the Alaska Inside Passage so guests can view Hubbard and Glacier Bays, Tracy Arm or Sawyer Glaciers.
