The Enchanted Princess just hit a special milestone. Princess Cruises took delivery of this beautiful ship exactly five years ago on September 30, 2020. Talk about perfect timing to celebrate!
This ship made history in more ways than one. It was the very first cruise ship delivered by Fincantieri after the COVID-19 pandemic began. The Italian shipyard built her at their Monfalcone facility near Trieste, Italy.
A Massive Construction Project
Building the Enchanted Princess was no small task. Over 6,000 workers helped bring this 3,360-passenger ship to life. She became the fifth ship in Princess Cruises’ popular Royal-class series.
The timing wasn’t ideal, though. Due to the pandemic, the ship had to wait in layup before welcoming her first guests on November 10, 2021. That’s over a year after delivery!
Finding Her Sea Legs
The ship’s first season started with cruises from Fort Lauderdale. Then she moved to Europe in April 2022 for Mediterranean adventures. This year brought some interesting changes to her schedule.
In 2025, the Enchanted Princess spent her summer in the Caribbean. After that, she repositioned to Canada and New England for fall foliage cruises. Since August, she’s been sailing seven to 12-night trips from New York City.
What’s Coming Next
Mid-November will see the 141,000-ton ship head back to Port Everglades. From there, she’ll offer more Caribbean and Bahamas getaways. These cruises feature stops at Princess Cays, the cruise line’s private island in Eleuthera.
You’ll also find visits to other Southern and Eastern Caribbean ports on these itineraries. The variety gives cruisers plenty of tropical destinations to explore.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Enchanted Princess will return to Europe. She’s set to start Mediterranean cruises again next April.
Dining and Accommodations
The ship’s interior design focuses heavily on dining options. One standout restaurant is La Mer, a French bistro that first appeared on the Majestic Princess. The variety of dining venues gives guests plenty of choices.
The Sky Suites deserve special mention too. These accommodations measure over 970 square feet, making them some of the largest in the cruise industry. That’s serious space for a cruise ship cabin!
Recent Updates Keep Things Fresh
Princess didn’t stop improving after the ship launched. In 2023, the cruise line made several changes to the food and beverage offerings. These updates included adding a new Irish pub and Salty Dog Café.
They also created Settimo Cielo, described as an “Italian town square.” These additions show how cruise lines keep evolving their ships even after they enter service.
The Enchanted Princess proves that even pandemic delays can’t stop a great ship from finding success. Five years later, she continues serving guests across multiple continents and seasons.
