Celebrity Solstice Enters Drydock for Major Makeover

The Celebrity Solstice is getting a big upgrade right now. The ship entered drydock in Singapore on January 16, 2026. It’s part of a massive renovation project that will cost $250 million.

The work is happening at a shipyard in Southeast Asia. The ship arrived after finishing a cruise from Hong Kong. Now it will spend 45 days getting a complete makeover.

Part of a Fleet-Wide Upgrade

This drydock is the first in a series of upgrades. All ships in the Solstice-class will get similar renovations over the next few years. Celebrity Cruises is investing heavily in making these ships feel brand new.

The 2008-built Celebrity Solstice will get new restaurants and entertainment spaces. The cruise line is also adding more cabin types. Every stateroom on the ship will be refreshed during this drydock.

New Dining and Entertainment Options

One exciting addition is the Boulevard Lounge and Bar. This new venue will host game shows and candlelit concerts. Guests can also enjoy dueling piano shows in this space.

Trattoria Rossa is another new feature coming to the ship. This Italian-inspired specialty restaurant will replace Qsine at Silk Harvest. It will give guests another dining option during their cruise.

Sunset Park will debut as a new outdoor venue. Guests can play lawn games or attend open-air concerts. It’s designed to be a relaxing spot to enjoy the fresh air.

Suite Upgrades and The Retreat

The Retreat is Celebrity’s exclusive suite area. It’s getting completely redesigned during this drydock. The updates include a new sun deck and a redesigned private lounge.

Suite guests will see major improvements to their exclusive spaces. The changes aim to make The Retreat even more luxurious. These upgrades will set Celebrity’s suite experience apart from other cruise lines.

All regular staterooms will also get refreshed. AquaClass cabins will receive comprehensive updates with spa-inspired elements. The ship will also add extra cabins in various areas.

When the Ship Returns to Service

The Celebrity Solstice will welcome guests back on March 2, 2026. Its first sailing after drydock is a 12-night cruise to Hong Kong. The ship will depart from Singapore on this open-jaw itinerary.

The cruise includes stops in Thailand and Vietnam. Ports of call include Ho Chi Minh City and Laem Chabang. After this Asia cruise season, the ship heads to different waters.

The 122,000-ton vessel will offer more cruises in Asia and the Pacific. Then it repositions to Alaska for the summer season. The 2,850-passenger ship will showcase all its new features to guests in these popular cruise destinations.
