The Celebrity Edge cruise ship has made its grand return to Australia. The ship docked in Sydney this week to start its third season sailing around the South Pacific.

The modern vessel completed a long 19-night journey across the Pacific Ocean. It sailed from Honolulu, Hawaii, to reach Sydney Harbor on Monday.

What’s Planned for This Season

Celebrity Edge will offer 17 different cruises departing from Australia and New Zealand. These cruises will run through April 2026, giving travelers plenty of options to explore the region.

“With its revolutionary, outward-facing design, the Celebrity Edge has been a game changer for the cruise industry, offering guests premium travel with enriching experiences and culinary journeys,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.

She added, “Sailings on the Celebrity Edge are much more than just a vacation, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back to these waters for a third season, providing immersive experiences that showcase all this incredible region has to offer.”

First Cruise Features the Great Barrier Reef

The ship’s first cruise from Sydney is an 11-night trip to the Great Barrier Reef. This world-famous reef system offers amazing snorkeling and diving opportunities. The Celebrity Edge can carry up to 2,900 guests on each sailing.

New Zealand Takes Center Stage

Celebrity designed this season to give travelers better access to New Zealand. Seven of the 17 planned cruises will visit New Zealand ports. This means more chances to see the country’s stunning landscapes and unique culture.

One standout cruise is a 13-night “Holiday Cruise” to New Zealand. This special trip includes scenic sailing through the country’s famous fjords. Guests will see Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, and Dusky Sound from the ship’s deck.

The cruise also stops at seven different ports in New Zealand. This gives travelers time to explore cities and towns throughout the islands.

Wine Lovers Get Special Treatment

Celebrity Edge will offer a seven-night “Australia Wine Journey” cruise. This trip focuses on Australia’s world-class wine regions. The ship will visit Hobart, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, and Melbourne.

Each port offers access to famous vineyards and wine tastings. Guests can learn about Australian wine-making and try local varieties.

New Experiences This Season

Celebrity has added 54 new shore excursions for this season. These trips let guests explore local attractions and activities at each port. The variety means there’s something for every type of traveler.

The ship will also make Celebrity’s first-ever visit to Newcastle. This Australian city offers new sights and experiences for cruise guests.

Double Celebrity Day in Sydney

Celebrity Solstice will arrive in Sydney on Tuesday, just one day after Celebrity Edge docked. This marks the first time Sydney has welcomed two Celebrity ships on back-to-back days.

Having two ships in port shows how popular Celebrity cruises have become in Australia. It also gives more travelers the chance to start their South Pacific adventure.

What Makes Celebrity Edge Special

Celebrity Edge launched in 2018 with a unique design focused on ocean views. The ship features outward-facing spaces that give guests better views of the sea and destinations.

The ship offers premium dining options and entertainment. Celebrity has designed the experience to be more than just transportation between ports.

This third season in the South Pacific builds on the ship’s success in the region. Celebrity continues to add new itineraries and experiences based on guest feedback.

The Celebrity Edge’s return to Australia gives American cruise travelers another option for exploring the South Pacific. The long season through April 2026 provides flexibility for planning trips to this bucket-list destination.
