Celebrity Cruises recently announced changes to its Blue Chip Club, the rewards program for casino guests. Initially, the news caused some confusion among members due to an unclear email, but the cruise line quickly apologized and clarified the details.
“Yesterday, we announced some changes to the Celebrity Blue Chip Club program. The feedback we received from you in the last 24 hours made it clear that we did not roll out these changes the way we should have… We are very sorry for the stress this may have caused you and would like to share how we are addressing this,” Celebrity Cruises explained in a follow-up email to guests.
The new rewards will officially take effect in August 2025. The most notable change is the removal of drinks packages from the rewards tiers. Instead, members will now receive complimentary drinks only while playing in the casino. This means guests will need to purchase their own drinks outside the gaming area.

Other changes include adjustments to free play credit, a reduction in WiFi benefits for most members, and fewer digital photography rewards. However, there are also some new perks, such as credits to spend in the onboard Effy Boutique, spa discounts, and special rates for family members.
Ruby-tier members will see several new benefits, including unlimited complimentary room service, priority luggage delivery, onboard credit, a welcome lunch, and reserved seating in the theater.
As Celebrity Cruises prepares to roll out these updates, guests will have some time to adjust before the changes take place next year.
