Carnival’s Isla Tropicale Gets a Big Upgrade in Roatán

Carnival Cruise Line has given its private destination in Roatán, Honduras a whole new look and feel. The spot, once called Mahogany Bay, is now officially known as Isla Tropicale — and it comes with some exciting new amenities.

Say Hello to Mangrove Bay

The biggest addition at Isla Tropicale is a brand-new pool area called Mangrove Bay. It covers 48,000 square feet, making it a seriously spacious place to kick back. Whether you want to splash around or sip something cold, there’s something here for everyone.

Mangrove Bay features a kids splash pad, a swim-up bar, and additional bar service throughout the area. Families and adults alike will have plenty of ways to enjoy the water. The area also includes a peninsula lined with cabanas and loungers, plus poolside daybeds for those who just want to relax.

What Carnival’s President Had to Say

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy shared her excitement about the destination’s evolution. “Isla Tropicale marks another exciting investment in the largest group of exclusive cruise destinations, Paradise Collection by Carnival,” she said.

Duffy also pointed to the new pool area as a highlight. “New features, including the destination’s first pool area, will elevate the guest experience at Isla Tropicale,” she added. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Roatán and Honduras and expanding our positive economic impact in the region.”

The new pool area is just one piece of the puzzle. Isla Tropicale already has a lot going on for guests who want to explore or unwind. The destination has two berths that can accommodate Carnival’s larger Excel- and Vista-class ships.
