Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its Cheers! Zero Proof package to all sailings departing in 2026. The alcohol-free beverage package proved so popular that Carnival decided to extend it beyond the initial test period.

Brand Ambassador John Heald announced the expansion in a social media update. The option is now available for booking online through Carnival’s website and app.

What the Zero Proof Package Includes

Cheers! Zero Proof covers unlimited non-alcoholic beverages throughout your cruise. The package includes milkshakes, sodas, non-alcoholic beers and spirits, frozen virgin cocktails, and special coffee drinks.

Heald called the package a “fabulous” option for guests who don’t drink alcohol. “It is worth every penny,” he said. “For a seven-day cruise, it costs, with gratuities and everything included, just over $200.”

That works out to about $30 per day for unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. The price includes gratuities, so there are no surprise charges added later.

Strong Demand Led to Expansion

Carnival originally introduced Cheers! Zero Proof in September 2025 for sailings through December. The response exceeded expectations, prompting the extension to all 2026 cruises.

“From the hundreds of comments I received overnight, I can say that a lot of guests are going to take immediate advantage of that,” Heald said after announcing the 2026 availability.

The package fills an important gap for non-drinking guests. Heald explained why it matters to many cruisers.

“I don’t drink, so I can understand why it is so popular,” he said. The package offers non-drinking guests an opportunity to have a package similar to Carnival’s traditional Cheers! beverage package while enjoying a wide array of non-alcoholic options.

How the Package Works

Passengers can order an unlimited number of beverages per cruise. However, drinks must be ordered with a ten-minute interval between each one.

“This is one of the ways that we control the program; it’s the fair way for us to control it,” Heald explained. The ten-minute rule prevents waste and ensures reasonable usage of the package.

The same rule applies to Carnival’s alcoholic beverage packages. It’s designed to manage the unlimited nature of the offering while keeping it fair for all guests.

Regional Differences for Australian Sailings

The package is available for cruises sailing from Australia with one notable exception. It does not include special coffees for sailings in that region.

Heald didn’t explain why Australian sailings have this restriction. It might relate to different coffee suppliers or pricing in that market.

All other beverage categories remain included for Australian cruises. You’ll still get milkshakes, sodas, non-alcoholic beers and spirits, and frozen virgin cocktails.

Why Zero Proof Packages Make Sense

More people are choosing to drink less alcohol or avoid it completely. This trend toward mindful drinking has grown significantly in recent years.

Traditional cruise beverage packages focused heavily on alcoholic drinks. Non-drinkers often felt like they were paying for something they wouldn’t use or missing out on package value.

Cheers! Zero Proof solves this problem by creating a package specifically for non-alcoholic beverages. You get similar value and convenience without paying for alcohol you won’t consume.

Comparing Package Value

At just over $200 for a seven-day cruise, Cheers! Zero Proof costs significantly less than Carnival’s alcoholic beverage package. The regular Cheers! package typically costs $70-80 per person per day.

To break even on the Zero Proof package, you’d need to order about seven or eight non-alcoholic drinks per day. That’s easily achievable if you enjoy:

  • Morning coffee drinks
  • Sodas with lunch
  • Milkshakes as afternoon treats
  • Virgin cocktails before dinner
  • Specialty beverages throughout the day

Individual non-alcoholic specialty drinks can cost $4-8 each. The package pays for itself quickly if you regularly order premium beverages.

Who Benefits Most from This Package

Families with teenagers find great value in the Zero Proof package. Teens often want specialty drinks like milkshakes and fancy sodas that add up quickly when purchased individually.

Pregnant women on cruises appreciate having unlimited access to virgin cocktails and special beverages. They can enjoy festive drinks without feeling left out of the cruise experience.

People in recovery or who simply don’t drink alcohol finally have a beverage package designed for their needs. The variety ensures they don’t feel limited to basic sodas and water.

Health-conscious cruisers who avoid alcohol for wellness reasons can still enjoy premium beverages throughout their vacation.

How to Book the Package

You can add Cheers! Zero Proof when booking your 2026 Carnival cruise online. The package appears as an option on Carnival’s website and mobile app.

You can also add it after booking by logging into your reservation and selecting beverage packages. The earlier you book, the better, as some sailings might limit the number of packages available.

Both guests in the same stateroom don’t need to purchase the package. Unlike the alcoholic Cheers! package that requires all adults in a cabin to buy it, Zero Proof has no such restriction.

What This Means for Cruise Beverage Options

Carnival’s expansion of the Zero Proof package signals growing recognition of non-drinking guests’ needs. Other cruise lines will likely introduce similar offerings if Carnival’s package continues succeeding.

The cruise industry traditionally focused beverage packages almost entirely on alcohol. This shift acknowledges that many cruisers want premium drink options without alcohol.

Innovation in beverage packages benefits all guests by creating more choices. Whether you drink alcohol or not, having packages tailored to your preferences improves the cruise experience.

Looking Ahead

Carnival will likely continue monitoring the package’s popularity throughout 2026. Strong demand could lead to further enhancements or additional non-alcoholic beverage options.

The success of Cheers! Zero Proof might inspire Carnival to expand non-alcoholic offerings throughout its ships. More virgin cocktail options, premium sodas, and specialty beverages could appear on menus.

For now, non-drinking cruisers on Carnival can book their 2026 cruises knowing they’ll have access to this popular package. The $200 price point for seven days makes it an affordable way to enjoy unlimited premium non-alcoholic beverages throughout your vacation.
