Carnival Encounter Gets Major Makeover in Singapore

The Carnival Encounter is currently sitting in drydock in Singapore getting some serious upgrades. The ship is set to head back to Brisbane on March 20 with a fresh new look and improved features.

The cruise line is giving the ship more than just a paint job. Carnival’s signature red, white, and deep blue colors will get refreshed. But the real excitement comes from the new amenities being added onboard.

A Brand New Spa Experience

One of the biggest changes is a completely new spa setup. The ship is getting a Cloud 9 Spa Thermal Suite with all the bells and whistles.

“We’re excited to be providing our guests with a whole new spa experience and transformed spaces onboard Carnival Encounter,” said Anton Loeb, Carnival Cruise Line assistant vice president Sales & Marketing.

He added, “Queenslanders are going to love the luxury of lying on a heated lounge while at sea, whether they choose to sail in summer, autumn, winter or spring.”

The new Cloud 9 Spa Thermal Suite includes saunas and steam baths. Guests will love the heated thermal lounges for relaxing while cruising. You can book access to these areas ahead of time online or once you’re on the ship.

The spa offers both day passes and full-cruise access options. This gives cruisers flexibility based on their vacation plans and budget.

Pool Upgrades and Fun Improvements

All five pools onboard are getting a complete refresh. The ship’s seven jacuzzi tubs will be totally replaced with new models. The areas around the pools and hot tubs are also getting updated.

Sports fans will appreciate the basketball court getting new hoops and netting. The Twin Racer slides are being polished up for faster, smoother rides.

Behind-the-Scenes Updates

The makeover isn’t just about what passengers can see. The drydock includes important energy-saving upgrades that will help the ship run more efficiently. These improvements help reduce the ship’s environmental impact.

The crew areas are also getting updates. Happy crew members help create better experiences for guests.

Return Journey and Future Sailings

The Carnival Encounter leaves Singapore on March 5 after finishing its upgrades. The ship will make stops in Lombok and Bali on its way back to Brisbane.

Once back in Australia, the ship returns to its regular schedule. The Carnival Encounter sails year-round to destinations across Australia and the South Pacific.

Popular ports include Airlie Beach and the Great Barrier Reef. The ship also visits island destinations like Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Fiji. Some itineraries include Papua New Guinea.
