Norwegian Aura is a sister ship to Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. But it’s about 10% larger than both of them. At nearly 1,130 feet long and 168,000 gross tons, it can hold up to 3,840 guests.

The ship sets sail on May 21, 2027, on a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain. After that, it will homeport in Miami starting in June 2027.

Ocean Heights: The Ultimate Adventure Zone

Norwegian Aura will feature a new Ocean Heights adventure zone

One of the most exciting new features is Ocean Heights. This four-deck adventure area spans decks 18 through 21. It’s a first for the NCL fleet.

Five Water Slides to Choose From

Norwegian Aura will have more slides than any other NCL ship. Here’s what riders can look forward to:

  • Eclipse Racers – NCL’s first dueling mat racer waterslides, stretching over 400 feet
  • Aura Free Fall – A drop slide with 250 feet of twists and turns
  • The Wave – A raft ride for those who prefer a group experience
  • The Drop – A dry slide that drops guests 10 decks, from deck 18 down to deck 8

More Than Just Slides

Thrill seekers can also tackle an 82-foot ropes course or a 25-foot rock climbing wall. For something a little more laid-back, Aura Midway offers carnival-style games in an outdoor amusement park setting. There’s truly something for every energy level here.

Ocean Boulevard: More Space, More Views

Ocean Boulevard is a signature feature on Prima Class ships. It’s an outdoor promenade that wraps all the way around deck 8. On Norwegian Aura, this space is 11% bigger than on its sister ships.

The extra space means more sun beds, new hot tubs, and a brand-new bar. It also means more room for activities and relaxation. Whether you want to lounge with a drink or explore, this deck has you covered.

Fun for Every Age Group

Families will be happy to know that Ocean Boulevard includes spots designed just for kids and teens.

  • Little Explorer’s Cove – A playground for kids ages 2 to 6
  • Adventure Alley – Crawl spaces and tunnels for kids ages 6 to 10
  • Teen Hangout – A chill-out space made just for teenagers

The Biggest Pool Deck in the Fleet

The pool deck on Norwegian Aura will be the largest in-fleet

The pool deck on Norwegian Aura will be more than 20% larger than the ones on its sister ships. That makes it the biggest pool deck in the entire NCL fleet. More seating, a larger LED screen, and extra lounge areas make this space hard to beat.

An additional infinity hot tub has also been added to the mix. Sun seekers will love the extra room to spread out. And adults who want a quieter escape will appreciate the Vibe Beach Club, NCL’s adults-only area, which is 15% larger here than on Norwegian Aqua or Norwegian Luna.

The Haven By Norwegian: Luxury Upgraded

NCL’s upscale enclave, The Haven By Norwegian, gets a serious upgrade on Norwegian Aura. It will have 30% more suites than any other ship in the fleet. Italian designer Piero Lissoni is behind the suite designs.

The Haven complex includes its own sundeck with a panoramic infinity pool. Guests also get access to two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna, a cold room, and a private bar and lounge. It’s a ship-within-a-ship experience for those who want the ultimate in privacy and comfort.

Stunning Hull Art Inspired by Light and the Sea

NCL ships are known for their intricate hull designs

NCL ships are famous for their bold and beautiful hull artwork. Norwegian Aura keeps that tradition going. Artist Rosie Woods created the ship’s hull design. She drew inspiration from celestial light and bioluminescent seas.

The result is a stunning visual that shows how light dances across water. It’s the kind of detail that makes NCL ships instantly recognizable from the dock.

NCL’s president and CEO Harry Sommer shared his excitement about the new ship:

Norwegian Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the celebration of bringing together families, friends and travellers from around the world. With brilliance and connection at her core, the ship was created to give all guests the freedom to vacation their very own way — offering the chance to exhale, connect and effortlessly escape into the moment. We look forward to this next milestone and can’t wait for guests to experience all that Norwegian Aura has to offer.”

With so many new features packed into one ship, Norwegian Aura looks like it’s going to be a game-changer for NCL. Whether you’re an adventure seeker, a family with young kids, or someone who just wants to relax in style, this ship seems built with you in mind.
