Ambassador Builds European Platform With Ambella
Ambassador Cruise Line said its acquisition of the Oceania Sirena is the next step in its strategy to become a leading cruise line in Europe.
According to a press release, the vessel will allow the company to serve a third European market with a new product aimed at German-speaking guests under the Ambassador Kreuzfahrten brand.

Set to be renamed the Ambella, the 670-passenger ship will spend summers sailing from Bremerhaven and Kiel starting in 2028.
Ambassador, which launched in the United Kingdom, highlighted its trajectory, including the addition of two ships to its main fleet between 2021 and 2023: the Ambience and the Ambition.
The company later merged with French cruise operator Compagnie Française de Croisières (CFC), adding a third vessel, the Renaissance, to its portfolio in early 2025.
The move was said to strengthen the group's European platform, allowing it to serve a second cruise market while expanding its operations in the Caribbean.
After the merger, the Renaissance continued to serve the French market during summers before embarking on a new Caribbean fly-cruise program for British, French and Dutch guests.
Following what Ambassador called a successful integration phase, CFC was rebranded as Ambassador Croisières earlier this month.
The rebrand was said to integrate the company's French business while maintaining its distinct identity and tailored experience for sailings out of Dunkirk and Marseille.
Ambassador said the change was a key step in its ambitions, uniting three ships under the Ambassador umbrella.
With the rebranding, the group also brought the companies under a single operational and strategic framework, which was said to strengthen its "financial resilience, business expertise and infrastructure."
Ambassador said the move allows for the exchange of specialist knowledge, greater economies of scale and closer collaboration between teams, while creating a scalable platform for further growth across Europe.
"Our merger with CFC gives us greater scale, financial stability and a stronger European platform, while allowing us to preserve the individual character of the markets we serve," said CEO Christian Verhounig.
"For us, growth means building a resilient European cruise company that achieves sustainable, long-term growth while remaining true to what has made Ambassador successful from the very beginning," he added.
With the launch of Ambassador Kreuzfahrten, the company is building on that strategy, adding a new national brand to its portfolio.
"The Ambella is the right ship, Germany is the right market and we believe this is the right time to take this exciting next step and offer a new generation of over-50s our famous, warmest welcome at sea "“ because moments matter," Verhounig said.
