Virgin Updates 2027 Alaska Program; Swaps Ports
Virgin Voyages is adjusting the itineraries for its 2027 deployment in Alaska and on the Pacific coast, according to a statement sent to travel advisors.
Returning to the region for a second summer season, the company will operate a series of cruises from Seattle and Vancouver onboard the Brilliant Lady.

The company said it is "fine-tuning" select sailings, noting that 16 departures were adjusted to address safety, navigation and guest feedback.
"Specific ports and scenic routes are changing; ship assignment, voyage length, and core onboard experience are not," Virgin explained.
According to the statement, key changes include scenic cruising at Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier replacing planned navigation near Tracy Arm Fjord.
The update affects 13 sailings and was necessary due to continued landslide risk in the Tracy Arm area, Virgin explained.
Following guest feedback, the company is also replacing visits to Prince Rupert with new calls at Victoria on 12 sailings.
Virgin said that passengers will enjoy a full day at the destination, highlighting attractions like Victoria's Inner Harbour and its historic downtown.
The company also updated the labeling of Inside Passage cruising, which now shows on itineraries as a sea day.
Other changes include adjustments for tender ports and timing for calls at Juneau, Sitka and Icy Strait Point.
Virgin said that the August 24, 2027, cruise will now feature a departure from Victoria at 6:00 PM due to local harbor restrictions.
The September 10, 2027, voyage will also see significant changes, with a planned visit to Astoria cancelled to accommodate Vancouver tidal navigation windows. With the call replaced by a sea day, the Brilliant Lady is now scheduled to spend more time in San Francisco.
The company said that guests on this sailing will receive a $33 per person refund for Astoria's port taxes and fees.
Virgin recently completed its maiden season in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, after arriving in the region for the first time in May 2026.
