Royal Caribbean Expands Legend of the Seas Maiden Season With Exciting New Cruise Itinerary

Royal Caribbean Adds New Cruise to Legend Maiden Season

Royal Caribbean just dropped some exciting news for cruise fans. A brand-new sailing has been added to the debut season of Legend of the Seas.

What Is Legend of the Seas?

Legend of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s newest ship. It’s currently being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. Once complete, it will be the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon class.

The ship is massive. It holds up to 5,610 passengers and weighs in at 250,800 tons. That’s a serious amount of ship.

Where Will Legend of the Seas Sail First?

The ship makes its big debut in Europe. Its very first cruise sets sail from Civitavecchia, Italy, on July 4, 2026. That inaugural voyage explores the Western Mediterranean, with stops in Italy, Spain, and France.

After the summer season in Europe, the ship heads across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The New Sailing You Need to Know About

Here’s the exciting part. Royal Caribbean just added a brand-new short cruise before the ship’s official U.S. debut.

This new voyage departs from Port Everglades on November 8, 2026. It’s a three-night trip to the Bahamas, with a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island.

Royal Caribbean shared their enthusiasm in an email to guests:

“The anticipation is building, and we simply can’t wait to welcome guests onboard for our arrival into Fort Lauderdale — so we’re opening the door to an unforgettable adventure sooner than expected.”

They also added: “We’re thrilled to share that one additional sailing has been added — creating another opportunity to be among the very first to experience everything this groundbreaking ship has to offer.”

What About Guests Already Booked on the Inaugural Sailing?

The original inaugural sailing departs Fort Lauderdale on November 11, 2026. Guests already booked on that trip received an email with some choices.

They had three options. They could keep their original booking as-is. They could also switch to the new November 8 sailing. If they chose to move their booking, pricing would be based on current availability and rates.

Why This Matters for Cruise Fans

Getting on a brand-new ship during its first season is always a special experience. Being among the first guests on an Icon-class ship is even bigger. Legend of the Seas is one of the most anticipated new ships in years, and this extra sailing gives more people a shot at that milestone.

If you’ve been watching Legend of the Seas closely, now is a great time to start planning.
