Valiant Lady Sets Sail for the Mediterranean After Drydock Refresh

Virgin Voyages just gave the Valiant Lady a serious glow-up. The ship recently completed a drydock at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Palermo, Italy, and came back with 10 redesigned spaces.

What’s New Aboard Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu didn’t hold back when talking about the changes. “Valiant Lady was already one of the most compelling ships at sea, but we kept asking ourselves how to make her even more worth coming back for,” he said.

He added: “The best transformations don’t come from smooth sailing but from listening, pushing further and creating something truly special. From Ariya to The Manor to a completely reimagined lineup of Happenings, Valiant Lady returns with a new energy our Sailors will feel immediately.”

A Brand-New Indian Restaurant

The biggest addition is Ariya, a new Indian restaurant. It seats 220 guests in a space designed to feel like India’s vibrant spice markets. This was announced back in March and sits at the center of the whole makeover.

Refreshed Spaces Throughout the Ship

Several spots got a fresh look with new furniture and paint. The Athletic Club and the Roundabout both received updates. The Manor, the Dock, and On the Rocks were reconfigured for a better flow and layout.

Coffee by Day, Cocktails by Night

Grounds Club Too is getting a dual-purpose upgrade. It will still serve Intelligentsia Coffee throughout the morning and afternoon. Later in the day, it transforms into a full bar.

New Shopping Options

Shoppers will find some new names in the onboard retail area. TAG and Pandora have both joined the ship’s store lineup. The Virgin Voyages brand shop also moved into a larger space.

New Entertainment Experiences

The fun onboard goes beyond the physical upgrades. Valiant Lady now offers more than 20 new “Happenings,” which is what Virgin Voyages calls its onboard activities and events. These range from espresso martini tastings and matcha workshops to game shows, crochet classes, knot-tying, and upcycling projects.

Where Valiant Lady Is Headed

The updated ship is now sailing a summer season across Europe. It’s departing from Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome’s port) with stops along the French Riviera, Spain, and Italy.

Northern Europe This Summer

In late July, the ship heads north to the UK. It will sail a series of cruises out of Portsmouth, England. This is a great option for travelers who want to explore Scandinavia or the British Isles.

Fall Foliage Cruises from New York

By mid-September, Valiant Lady arrives in New York City. From there, it offers fall foliage sailings to Canada, New England, and Bermuda. These itineraries are always popular, and the timing is perfect for colorful autumn scenery.

Caribbean Sailings Starting in October

In October, the ship repositions to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It will then offer six- to eight-night Caribbean itineraries. Those sailings run all the way through April 2027, giving you plenty of time to plan a winter escape.
