Royal Caribbean Moves Oasis of the Seas to East Coast

Bye-Bye Port Canaveral – Hello East Coast! Royal Caribbean just announced that their 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas will move to the east coast. It will be the largest ship to sail from the Northeast, with departures from its homeport in Bayonne, NJ.

Following a “Royal Amplification” the cruise line’s name for their $1 billion new bow-to-stern refurbishment on seven of their ships,  Oasis of the Seas will cruise 7-night Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ).

Port Canaveral won’t go without…Harmony of the Seas is moving in and will sail from the Space Coast. Same for the tried and true Mariner of the Seas beginning May 2019.

Cruise ship shuffle

Adventure of the Seas will return to Cape Liberty, sailing a variety of 5- and 9-night summer and fall itineraries to Bermuda, New England and Canada, The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Vision of the Seas will offer three 10- to 11-night one-way itineraries between Bayonne and Quebec City with an overnight in Quebec City.

Symphony of the Seas returns to PortMiami with 7-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Freedom of the Seas moves to San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2020 and continues to be the largest ship to call San Juan its homeport. From San Juan, Freedom will cruise to the Southern Caribbean.

Brilliance of the Seas moves to Boston in September 2020, sailing 7- to 10-night cruises to Canada.

Staying put in Baltimore and Galveston

Grandeur of the Seas cruises 9-night itineraries to Canada and New England for fall foliage from year-round homeport in Baltimore, MD.  Grandeur will also cruise alternating  5- and 9-night itineraries to Bermuda and The Bahamas in the summer months. In the winter, Grandeur begins 9-night Southeast Coast & Bahamas and 12-night Southern Caribbean cruises. Reservations begin on Dec. 13, 2018.

Liberty of the Seas stays put in Galveston with cruises to the Western Caribbean. Liberty of the Seas refurbishment takes place early in 2021.
