Navigator of the Seas Refurbishment to the tune of $115 Million

The top deck aboard Navigator is where you’ll find Royal Caribbean’s concept of a Perfect Storm will be an expanded water park that features two amazing waterslide firsts. There’s The Blaster, is the first aqua coaster for Royal Caribbean and the longest waterslide at sea. Hop onto a two-person raft and race through more than 800 feet of hills, drops and straightaways. The ride ends as the racing tube extends over the side of the ship.

The second half of the Perfect Storm duo is Riptide, the first head-first mat racing slide. You’ll finish up the ride gliding through a translucent tube with a view of the sea. A little tamer, kids will have new splash pool and of course there will be Royal Caribbean’s signature FlowRider surf simulator.

The center pool deck will have a Caribbean resort-style look complete with outdoor takeaway food from Johnny Rockets Express Burger Bar and El Loco Fresh. A new outdoor-access bar will be The Lime and Coconut, late-night 2-story lounge with live music until late at night.

Navigator of the Seas refurbishment will also include the first-ever blow dry bar at sea, aptly named To Dry For. The salon will also offer manicures and pedicures. Other shops and venues along the Royal Promenade will receive a mini-makeover, too.

Dining upgrades

If you like steaks, Chops Grille steakhouse is getting a remodel. The popular Jamie’s Italian, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s rustic Italian restaurant, will be added plus a handful of other new eateries. New England-style dishes, from lobster and crab claws to local fish and fresh oysters will be offered at Hooked Seafood. And the ship is finally getting a Starbucks.

Navigator of the Seas will emerge from its multi-million dollar refurbishment and homeport in Miami, ready for its first cruise on February 24, 2019. Itineraries will alternate with 5 and nine night cruises. Then on May 3, 2019 the Navigator of the Seas begins its 3 and 4 night Bahamas cruises. Reservations are open for booking.
