Oceania Nautica Is Getting a Complete Transformation Into the Brand New Oceania Aurelia
Oceania Cruises just announced a big transformation that world travelers will want to know about. The beloved Nautica is getting a complete makeover — and a brand-new name.
Meet the Oceania Aurelia
After 25 years of sailing the seas, the Oceania Nautica is being reborn. Under Oceania’s OceaniaNEXT program, the ship will be fully reimagined and relaunched as the Oceania Aurelia. The new ship is expected to debut in late 2027.

Once she’s ready, the Aurelia will take on some of Oceania’s most ambitious itineraries. She’s slated to sail the line’s 180-day Around the World voyages in both 2028 and 2029, plus a series of Grand Voyages.
Designed for the True World Explorer
This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint. The Aurelia is being built from the ground up with long-voyage travelers in mind.
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, explained the vision clearly: “Oceania Aurelia is our ultimate world explorer. She is designed specifically for guests who desire greater space, more suites and a deeper level of personalized care, particularly for extended journeys.”
He added, “Oceania Aurelia will be a smaller, more club-like ship that truly feels like a home at sea, providing travelers a deeper connection to the ports they visit.”
The Aurelia will carry fewer than 500 guests. A crew of 400 officers and staff will be on hand to serve them.
Spacious Suites for Every Traveler
The ship will have 238 total accommodations. Of those, 179 will be full suites.
Most suites will be over 300 square feet. Some will stretch up to 1,000 square feet, with separate living and dining areas included.
Suite Categories on the Aurelia
The suite lineup will cover a wide range of options, including:
- Remastered classics — Owner’s, Vista, and Penthouse Suites
- New additions — Oceania Suites and Horizon Suites
- Additional options — Oceanview and Inside Suites
Dining That Goes Beyond the Basics
Food lovers will have plenty to get excited about. The Aurelia will feature several well-known Oceania dining spots.
Onboard restaurants will include The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill, and the Pizzeria (open evenings). Each offers a distinct dining experience for guests.
New Twists on Fan Favorites
The popular Baristas coffee venue is moving to a new location inside Horizons. It will also gain two new concepts — a Bakery and a Crêperie.
A new Founders Bar will bring mixology experiences to the ship’s bar and lounge lineup. It’s a great spot for craft cocktail fans.
Enrichment and Activities Onboard
The Aurelia isn’t just about lounging at sea. Guests will have plenty of ways to learn and stay engaged throughout their voyage.
Enrichment options will include:
- Chef’s Studio — hands-on culinary workshops
- Artist Loft — creative art activities
- LYNC Digital Center — interactive tech and digital classes
- Guest Speakers — talks on a wide range of topics
A New Spa Perk for All Guests
Here’s a standout addition worth noting. For the first time ever, all guests aboard the Aurelia will enjoy unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace at no extra charge.
That’s a meaningful upgrade for anyone planning an extended voyage. More relaxation, included from day one.
