Norwegian Escape Kicks Off Winter Season from New Orleans

The Norwegian Escape has arrived in New Orleans to start its winter cruise season. The ship will spend the next six months sailing to popular Western Caribbean destinations.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s vessel began its winter schedule with a departure on October 25, 2025. The ship offers seven-night cruises that visit some of the most beautiful spots in the Caribbean.
Where the Norwegian Escape Goes
The 4,200-passenger ship visits four main ports during its weekly cruises. Guests can explore Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico. The itinerary also includes stops at Roatán in Honduras and Norwegian’s private island, Harvest Cay in Belize.
The Norwegian Cruise Line ship will offer 24 similar seven-night cruises through mid-May. These cruises give travelers plenty of chances to experience the Western Caribbean this winter.
Longer Cruise Options Available
Norwegian Escape also offers two special 14-night cruises in February. These longer sailings visit more destinations across the Southern Caribbean and Central America.
The extended cruises include stops at George Town in the Cayman Islands. Passengers can also visit Puerto Limón in Costa Rica and Cartagena de Indias in Colombia.
Recent Itinerary Changes
Before starting its New Orleans season, Norwegian Escape had some challenges. The ship sailed a 14-night repositioning cruise from New York City in October.
The original itinerary had to change due to mechanical problems. Guests were informed that two ports of call had to be dropped due to “a required adjustment that slightly reduces our sailing speed.”
The adjusted cruise still visited seven destinations. Passengers enjoyed stops in St. Thomas, Curaçao, and Aruba. The ship also visited Puerto Plata and Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic, plus Falmouth in Jamaica and Cozumel in Mexico.
What Happens After New Orleans
Norwegian Escape’s time in New Orleans ends in May 2026. The ship will then move to Miami for summer Caribbean and Bahamas cruises.
After the summer season, the vessel heads to the Northeast for fall cruises. This schedule gives the ship year-round deployment in popular cruise regions.

Norwegian Escape was the first ship in Norwegian’s Breakaway-Plus series. The vessel was built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany and started sailing in 2015.
