Gen. Lori J. Robinson Named Godmother of Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has named retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson as the godmother of the Legend of the Seas, its third Icon-class ship.

The ship was delivered to Royal Caribbean in June, entering service in early July with a seven-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean sailing to Italy, Spain and France.

Following its summer debut in Europe, the Legend of the Seas is set to embark on its first trans-Atlantic crossing in late October.

The 37-year Air Force pioneering veteran will then officially welcome the ship to the U.S. during a Veterans Day naming ceremony in Fort Lauderdale on November 11.

"I am deeply honored to be named godmother of Legend of the Seas and take part in such a special tradition for Royal Caribbean alongside my family," said Gen. Robinson.

"Throughout my career, I have seen the importance of bringing people together in pursuit of a shared purpose, and Legend creates those same connections for families and loved ones. Having the ship's naming ceremony on Veterans Day makes this especially meaningful to me, and I look forward to recognizing the generations of men and women who have served."

From Fort Lauderdale, the ship will deliver six-night Western Caribbean voyages and eight-night Southern Caribbean cruises to Oranjestad, Aruba, and Willemstad, Curacao.

Every voyage will visit Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day CocoCay destination in The Bahamas.
