Cunard is thrilled to announce that the renowned Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux will be back on board in 2025 for a special series of Le Gavroche at Sea residencies. This exciting event brings the elegance and excellence of Roux’s legendary London restaurant, Le Gavroche, to the high seas, offering guests an unforgettable culinary experience as they explore the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords.
Four Exclusive Residencies Across Two Iconic Ships
Chef Roux will oversee four Le Gavroche residencies next year, split between Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 and the new Queen Anne. These exclusive events will take place during four Fjords voyages between April and August, with two residencies aboard each ship.
Roux expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming series, saying, “I am so excited to get back on board and showcase the beauty of Norwegian seafood to Cunard guests.”
The first of these residencies will be a five-night takeover at The Verandah aboard Queen Mary 2 during a seven-night roundtrip Fjords sailing, starting on April 6. Guests will indulge in a five-course tasting menu that highlights the best of the sea, crafted by one of the world’s most celebrated chefs.
The journey continues with Queen Anne on May 11, where Roux will host Le Gavroche at Sir Samuels during another Fjords voyage. Here, guests can expect a delightful variety of his signature seafood dishes and refined culinary classics.
In August, Roux will return to Queen Mary 2 for another intimate takeover of The Verandah on August 15, before concluding his series of residencies on Queen Anne from August 31.
These exclusive Le Gavroche at Sea experiences will be available for an additional charge, with each evening’s venue catering to a limited number of diners—up to 60 in The Verandah and 50 in Sir Samuels.
Elevated Seafood Experiences Onboard
In addition to the Le Gavroche residencies, Michel Roux will be launching another elevated seafood concept on board. Guests can look forward to Oysters at The Champagne Bar on Queen Mary 2 and Oysters at Carinthia Lounge on Queen Anne. These venues will serve exquisite Norwegian seafood every night of their respective voyages, offering a walk-in experience like no other.
During each voyage, Roux will also engage with guests through a live cooking demonstration at the Royal Court Theatre and will appear as an Insight Speaker, sharing stories from his illustrious 40-year career in the hospitality industry. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend book signing events with the chef.
Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, emphasized the significance of these events, stating, “We’re thrilled to continue our successful Le Gavroche at Sea residencies. Our guests expect exceptional experiences, and having one of the world’s most celebrated chefs on board to create special menus and host exclusive events is truly special.”
Michel Roux added, “It is always a privilege to revive the essence of Le Gavroche and I am thrilled to be collaborating with Cunard for a second series of takeovers next year. This project is incredibly rewarding and allows me to craft signature menus that capture the spirit of adventure as well as the art of accessible fine dining. I am hugely excited to get back on board and showcase the beauty of Norwegian seafood to Cunard guests.”
