Carnival Informs Guests of In-Person Safety Briefings

Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement to inform guests that five ships will feature full safety briefings this week.

According to the letter, the in-person drills will be mandatory for guests boarding the Carnival Horizon, the Carnival Panorama, the Carnival Sunshine, the Carnival Vista or the Carnival Firenze over the next weekend.

"The safety of everyone onboard is always our priority and we are dedicated to maintaining responsible and secure operations," Carnival stated, noting that a safety briefing is conducted ahead of every sailing.

"The procedures will mostly follow a self-mustering format, but, occasionally, the team will conduct a full safety drill on random sailings," the company added.

Carnival said that the in-person mustering will be conducted onboard five ships between Sept. 26 and Sept. 28, 2026.

"This is a mandatory procedure, and all guests will be required to participate in this brief but essential exercise," the statement continued.

"Ship-wide announcements will provide guidance on the process, which will include collective gathering at your assigned muster station to familiarize yourself with the necessary steps to take in the unlikely event of an emergency," Carnival added.

The company said that it appreciates guests' cooperation as it "focuses on best practices that will uphold the highest safety standards for smooth and secure journeys."

Two of the in-person briefings will take place onboard ships sailing from Long Beach, with the Carnival Panorama and the Carnival Firenze set to offer cruises to the Mexican Riviera and Baja.

The teams of the Carnival Horizon and the Carnival Vista will conduct the full safety briefing on itineraries to the Caribbean departing from Florida.

The Carnival Sunshine will also host the collective safety gathering as part of a six-night cruise to the Bahamas that sails from its homeport in Norfolk.
