Corazul Kicks Off Cruise Season in Brazil

Corazul Cruceros has marked the opening of the cruise season in Brazil with the inaugural sailing of the Buenavista.

Having arrived in the country following a 45-day repositioning voyage, the 1995-built vessel embarked on its first cruise on October 30, 2026.

The ship started its career for the Spanish startup company with a preview cruise that sailed from Santos and included visits to Búzios and Rio de Janeiro.

"We designed Buenavista to provide well-being, togetherness and comfort in all areas. We want every guest to enjoy pleasant moments and feel welcomed by the Mediterranean atmosphere that characterizes the company," said Camille Appeldoorn, COO of Corazul Cruceros.

Originally built for P&O Cruises, the Buenavista was acquired by the new cruise line in late September, following a charter agreement with Astro Ocean Cruises.

The 1,800-passenger ship is now scheduled to offer a series of three- to seven-night cruises to destinations in Brazil.

While the shorter cruises sail to Búzios, Balneário Camboriú, Ilhabela and Cabo Frio, the longer sailing will feature overnight visits in Salvador.

In addition to Santos, passengers can also board the Buenavista in Rio de Janeiro for all of its cruises.

Starting in November, the Buenavista will be joined in Brazil by other vessels from MSC Cruises and Costa Cruises.

The MSC Musica and the MSC Divina will be among the first to arrive for the Brazilian season, welcoming national guests in mid-November.

The Costa Diadema and the MSC Splendida will join the country's lineup in late November, followed by the MSC Virtuosa in early December.

Concluding a world cruise that started in Japan, the Costa Serena arrives in the country for cruises departing from Rio de Janeiro in early January 2027.

With ships departing from a range of ports around the country, the cruise season in Brazil runs through early April.
